The rally shots are awesome, I hope it plays better than GT´s rallyes races.

With 2 cars on the track at the same time ( from what I can see on the pic ) It won't play better than GT4.
Don't they understand that in Rally there is only one car on the track ?
I have to admit that the pics looks as good as in GT4.

Think of it as a mix of rallycross and rally.

My copy of Enthusia Professional Racing shipped today !!! Well I didn't order it with UPS so it will take a week or so, nevertheless great ! :sly:

the argument is over.
Actually it's not, believe me it's not. The fact is that quote from the Ruf site cou;d be misinterpreted. Ruf build their own cars, fact. They also tune people Porsches when asked to do so. Anyhow, as the other guy said, theres a thread for this and theres a load of in depth explanations as to why Ruf are a manufacturer andnot a tuner.

Can't wait to read the "Final complete review by Max_DC" from Gtplanet.net!!!!!

im itching to press the "buy now" button, but im worried i'll have to buy 2 versions of the game in the end just like GT4 (i love GT so it didnt bother me getting 2 versions of the same game).

Is the version out on lik-sang and play-asia in english at all? and what format is it on? also if i get that version, will it be compatible with other versions of enthusia (like PAL or US NTSC)?

The one available on lik-sang and play-asia are NTSC/J. I'll find out how much of the menus are in english soon...
Format? errr... DVD5? :P
I don't think the versions are compatible if you're talking about loading a different gamesave (i.e. japanese save with a usa game).

I just played it for a bit... I'll give impressions tomorrow. Too tired now :) but here are some screencaps. The game looks much better than these screencaps from my AIW card. Only the main menus (not including option screen) are in english, the important info that tells you about the game are all in japanese. So right now there are things I don't even understand yet, like the rival roulette below.

I played it with my dualshock2 controller so don't bother asking about how it feels with the DFP. I'm too lazy to plug my wheel back into my PS2 tonight so I'll try it out tomorrow. The game was playable using a normal controller though, well it was fine with me.

Main Menu

The HP feature

Rival Unlock Roulette List (after a race in Enthusia Life mode)

Quick Tune menu from Free Run mode

Grid Position Change before a a race in Free Run mode

Subaru Rally Car on Tsukuba

Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car on Tsukuba

Very nice. Would like to know more when you can as Im looking forward to getting it, but will have to wait one week before it arrives here from lik-sang.

Display is 4:3 only, no progressive scan.

There is a driving guide map of Nurburring with the game.

spoooony, you have the full game???

one other question, how come the car in te last picture is an Audi but the bottom-left of the screen says it's a Nissan?

Seeing the Subaru's pictures I guess that Enthusia will have 6 car races, just like GT4. It's a big disapointment for me ... I HATE races with such a short grid and this is . always has been my big complaint about the GT games.

I guess Enthusia will be - like GT - a driving simulation, but definitely NOT a race simulation.

Skill Point awarding system, together with Driver HP (deducted when hit wall/fence), they provide a good reason for you to drive better

Oh BTW, I bought it today.

How are the controls with the DS2?? Are they slow and unresponsive like in the demo or has this been changed??

I don't know about the demo as I didn't have it. I don't think the control is unresponsive nor slow with DS2, haven't tried it on GT Force Pro yet.

My feeling is that I will certainly like this game.

maskrider (and spooony), do you think it's possible to play and understand the game without knowing Japanese?

Anyway, keep those translated menu's coming! :D

Edit: Stupid question. spooony already answered this. Nevermind.

oryan_dunn
wow that really blows. leaving out an option like widescreen now-a-days is a huge no no. And I was really looking forward to this one.

yeah that is not good.... well bad luck, will be fun anyway....

menu screen doesn't look that eye-candy as GT4
hope the gameplay will be good enough to keep me playing
one thing I worry about the car unlock system
in the past, I usually stop playing the game in very short period of time after I unlock all the cars ... like NFSU, R:RE, WRC etc ....
I wish this one will not become one of those

Well, that's something I can't stand in GT4. the loading between options screens. I'd much rather have a flat 2d, instant loading option/menu screen then waiting 5-15 seconds in between each one.

priceless hours of our lives are "wasted between the loading screens in gt4. I agree. 👎 I prefer function over form.

Display is 4:3 only, no progressive scan.

I wonder if the game is like the ESPN games in that it gets the display ratio from the PS2 itself, rather than an option in the menu. maskrider, If you set your PS2 to 16:9 in the opening browser, do the cars look tall and skinny? I really don't care about progressive, as that would just be icing on the cake. Widescreen is the most important, heck even the 4 year old gt3 has widescreen.

a little review brought to you by yours truly:
Graphics: not as good as GT4, although there are flames from the exhausts, nice dust effects and reflections. But if directly compared (espacially Nordschleife without the paintings on the tarmac and Tsukuba) it loses, close but it loses.
Sounds: Music: crap; engine-sounds: great, better then gt4, no GTR though. Sound-Effects: wall-crashing etc.: decent, could be better;
Physics: astonishing, gt4 seems like arcade to me, braking in a corner with a mini-cooper -> lockup. very very good feel. currently i don't want to play gt4 because it plays this well (with the DFP)
Others: it's mostly in japanese, but playable without problems;
the selection of cars is superb, just love the e30 M3 and the MGB;
Driving Revolution Mode: great fun, but haven't played that much DR yet.
Blackflag System (Driver HP): good and bad at the same time, it keeps you from ramming all the way to the front but it is kind of frustrating if you want to unlock cars (more concerning that maybe later)
the only negative point are the tracks, until now I've only seen Tsukuba and the Nordschleife as real racing tracks.
