Awesome post 440, I like the fact you did a RUF and finished off the list for that  Keep it up man, oh, btw, that report, it's long, but I actually red yours more than any one elses :)

Great reports everyone!

How about links in the first post that link to each individual report? With the rapid growth of this thread, I think it's a great idea. 👍

Looks awesome! Great work. It looks a lot more organized now. 👍 👍

Great job matt. I really like it. I was thinking about making the time things the links to the tests, and luckily, you were smart enough to realize that. :) 👍 Note to other bestesters members, do not link your time to your post, let ekmatt do it, just to keep confusion out of it. :) Keep Testing

Tommy kaira ZZ-S '00

Deep Forest : 1.32.571

First impression : This is a tiny car....and with mid mounted engine and a 192hp this Has to be a fun/sporty car. The only thing that doesn't appeal to me is the windows on the doors...they are out of proportion the the look of the car. Purely cosmetics.

It took a lap to adapt to the mid engine set up to the dirt and then I could throw it around with some more confidence. This car has almost perfect balance even in stock trim. Almost too perfect...this car needs to be finessed. Soft and gentle adjustments to the steering keeps it on track. Its easy to over correct in this car, trying to "drift/ slide" through long turns can get out of control quick but if you get it just right the ZZ-S makes quick work of the turns. The power band fits the car perfect. It does have tall gears but has no trouble finding torque when its needed.

When I took it onto Deep Forest it really was in its element. Due to the almost perfect weight balance this car was great for this track. Even on the uphill spots it was able to pull itself up swiftly. I was spending alot of time in 3rd gear but I was able to downshift on occasion to get the car back on track. You can really push this car to the limits and still keep it under control, that's a huge plus. I know I wasn't going to break any records in it but it was going as hard as it could without missing a beat.

Conclusion: This is a great car. It pulls its weight better than I thought and the neutral balance makes it predictable and easy to manage. I didn't have an understeer problem and it was able to power out of turns without bogging. Overall it was able to perform to the best of its ability's, and was equipped with the the necessary items to do so.

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best) I give it an 8

Honda S2000 Type V '03

When Honda in the late nineties announced that they were going to make a new sports car, a direct descendant of the S500, S600 and S800, few people knew what kind of success it would become. The S2000 is one of the finest cars today and it really has filled the boots of the old models. The S2000 keeps Honda's sporty star shining in the sky now as the NSX is history and it does it well.

This car looks extremely good, with its long nose and aggressive front lights it can scare smaller cars out of its way by just showing up. The waist line is quite high and raises towards the rear of the car, which gives a powerful impression. It may look even faster than it is but that's not a bad thing, is it? The brand-new paint coat is polished to the maximum and thus this car literally shines wherever it is.

The engine is rather small in displacement but that doesn't mean it lacks in grunt. It pumps out almost 250 brake horsepower and a considerable amount of torque. The exhaust gases are exited through large twin pipes that produce a notifiable scream when the revs rise near the redline that is as high as 9000 rpm. There is a slight drop in the middle of the power band before the VTEC kicks in but after that there is lots of ample power all the way until the redline.

But the best part of this car is yet to come; the handling. The S2000 is one of the best-handling cars I've ever driven and it beats many more expensive vehicles on twisty tracks. The car is mainly neutral but it has a slight tendency to oversteer when driven on the limits. If the rear drifts out, the slide is easy to catch thanks to the fast and responsive steering. Body roll is almost non-existant and the wheels don't leave the ground too easily. This is how a sports car should handle.

Time on Deep Forest: 1.27.445

+ Excellent looks
+ Handling in every aspect
+ Engine responsivity

- Torque on low revs before VTEC cut-in

BESTesters Toyota Supra RZ '97:

Deep Forest Raceway Time: 1'26. 962

Exterior:
Now, I like Supra's a lot. The sound, the exterior, the wheels, even those tail lights that all little ricers use on CRX's and what not. The only thing I'd change on this Supra is the wing. Gran Tursimo 4 should have had an option that lets you take off spoilers. I like my cars with out big wings, I know some are for down force, but some spoilers just look like crap. I think the Supra's wing should have been lower a bit. I like the stock rims, but those just don't work for my taste :) I put some BBS rims on it. The 2nd one's in from the left when you go into the BBS selection in the wheels dept. in GT Auto. Otherwise, with this car, 1-10, the exterior rating, I saw a 7. The wing really puts it off for me.

Pro's on the track:
I hate to say this, but I don't think there are any. Besides having the Supra with almost 300 horsepower, and great torque numbers, I like the power in this Supra. The freaking suspension is horrible!! So much understeer, I can't even finish listing what is the worst with this car. I don't think there are any pro's on the track to be honest. Rating 1-10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, this car has to be 1 / 2. It's just this car is awful on the track, when I come up with some good enough settings for it, you can PM me and I can PM you them if you want any settings.

Con's on the track:
Everything on this car when it's on the track is bad. When you have thottle full, half way, or none, and you're trying to turn, you get soo much understeer back. This car is awful on the track. I do not know why GT4 Makers made this car a horrible car at Grip Racing and Drifting. No matter how you tune it, race tires, Driving Aids on, Downforce, etc. It's still a bad car to choose in GT4. This car is just horrible. One being okay and 10 being the worst, this car is a 9 / 10. In real life, I expect it is different, but in the game, this car is garbage.

The Conclusion:
In conclusion, this is one of the worst handling cars in Gran Turismo 4. The exterior is okay, except for the wing, and the stock wheels are alright. This car is just horrible when it comes to stock racing. I would never ever want to have this car if I was in the game :) Overall, I was and am shocked. I thought this car would be a beast, but only the engine speaks, everything else isn't working. I'm very mad at this game and this car...

...This car needs some fixing...

Greycap
OK, I'll take the Shelby Mustang then. You'll have to wait until next week though. :)

haha, thats what you get, I bought the s2000 and was going to review it today, only to find out you did it first.:grumpy:

Nice write up matt. I had the same type of review with the 3000GT. Its odd that the " Heavy Hitters" in the game arent as big of a threat in stock form.

I think Ill do the VW R32 tonight.

nice stuff matt, ya know, i was never fond of the new supras, the old supras were much better on the track. You inspired me to drive it again, and man does it have body roll and under steer, but anyway, great write up 👍

i like the review ekmatt. thats exactly how i feel about the supra ingame. i think it sucks @$$. it looks great in my opinion but handles like crap.

Thank you all...

@Pain Killer-The Supra does suck major ass in driving, but the exterior, I think it kinda sucks too, I was just being kinda nice ;)

I saw this BEST Motoring episode where there was a white Amuse RZ and it handled like a dream. The Tsuchiya dude even said it was too fast :D

VW Golf IV R32 '03

VR6GTI72

Deep Forest : 1.35.432

First Impression: Im a huge fan VW products so needless to say Im smitten over the looks of this car. I own a Golf IV GTI so the body style appeals to me greatly. I like the aggressive bumper and dual exhaust. It really ties the car together. Golf IVs aren't a real "look at me" kind of car but when you hear this thing coming you have to look.

On the dirt: I took this straight to the dirt for this. Its been a long time since VW had a AWD Golf and the R32 has all the ingredients to make up a great rally car. First thing I notice is the 3.2 wedge 6 cylinder has no lack of torque. It matches the power band great. Even on the uphill it can make a good pace. Taking turns hard are handled with ease. There is very little body roll and the balance of the car is spot on. A light tap of the throttle slows down any sliding and the car can change directions on a dime. Very impressed with this first run...I cant wait to see on the track.

On the tarmac: I really love the "attitude" of this car. Plenty of grunt to keep the car moving but nimble enough to carve a turn. Taking turns "hot" isn't a problem. A tap of the brakes and a wide open throttle make it so you can take the turn at speed. The uphills....no problem. I was hitting 137mph in 4th gear. This is a long winded car. The AWD is what makes this car a star. In FWD form its heavy and not very graceful. The R32 is the opposite, balanced and strong. The suspension is a dream. The only time I experienced a nosedive was a hard stomp on the brakes the rest of the time it felt like an aftermarket suspension.

Overall: This was way better than I thought is was going to be. From the results of my last few reviews, I was wary of what the R32 could do. Everything I wanted this car to do...it did. No matter what conditions your driving in, the R32 can handle it. It may not have crazy horsepower numbers or the most " in your face" looks, but its a great car that can keep up with the best. Very Impressed with the VW R32 in stock form. I give it, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best) .....an 8

Good one vr6! It makes me want to go and buy one for myself just to see how good it is. I figured you would eventually do a golf update, because or your name.👍

PERFECT BALANCE

Thats why I put off doing VW/audis....because its so predictable. I figuire now that Ive done a few cars I can do some VWs with something to compair them to. There will be more VW/Audi reviews from me. I just have to space them out between shoots.

you must be about 99% german, you love those cars. And if that car is as beastly as you say, i may have to drift it. Nice pics and writin' man 👍

Thats why I tested some others first. I didnt want to feel bias and have nothing to compare it to. It really was better than the 3000GT and I thought the 3000GT was going one of the better cars but Im put off by it. Ill try a couple more Heavy Hitters to see if I can get a better result. The R32 is my benchmark to beat right now.

In my overall score it doesnt have to have a fast Deep Forest time to get a high score...as long as the car is going as hard as it can and it has to be fun.
