lol i jus started over again too im like about 10% or 12% i have all licences except s-licence i got like 2 tests left but im already whoopin @$$ with my f-090s :D

I recently restarted. Got golds on everything up to S-6, then my PS2 died.

The nice thing is that Sony is now replacing PS2's free if they have Disc Read Errors, so I just have to wait a few weeks.

i just restarted yesterday... dunno my % but 100% win ratio... in am races with all lisence done... racing close races and drifting... more fun this way... i am doin it for cars... and colors

I restarted GT2 since I can't play GT3 ... Those are some big pixels!

The license tests aren't really easier than GT3, it's just that you can do them a lot faster because the tests themselves are mostly around 20-sec runs, so none of them get too annoying. I really like the way the race cars have an R indicator in front of the name so it's easy to tell the normal cars apart. Used cars, more manufacturers, hp limits... If the graphics weren't so bad it'd be a better game than GT3.

ive restart my game since i first got it 4 times

Where did you hear this from? Is it for PS2's that have difficulties reading some discs, or is it for a complete "Disc Read Error" only? Are they replacing or just reparing the PS2? I sent mine in about two and a half years ago and Sony only repaired it. Why the change if they do replace them?

I have never restarted after 100%...

Well, tons of people get Disc Read Errors from PS2's, especially the SCPH-30001's. There are forums full of people b*tching about it. I found an online petition with 3000 signatures asking Sony to admit it and fix their PS2's. I found another site belonging to a law firm filing a class-action lawsuit against Sony, specifically citing Disc Read Errors.

Sony used to charge about $100 to fix/replace your PS2, but now they waive the fee if you tell them you're getting a Disc Read Error. You just have to pay to ship it to them.

I don't know what they'd do if you said you just had problems with some discs. They would probably ask you if those discs worked on other systems. My PS2 started giving a lot of DRE's on DVD's, then eventually wouldn't play DVD's or games at all (except regular CD's and PS1 games).

The number is 1-800-345-SONY. They will ask you what the problem is, and when you say you're getting a DRE, they make it a point to say, "This isn't a common problem," which is a bit odd, but then they turn right around and say they'll replace it free without giving you any hassle at all. They do ask if you've modded your PS2 or used a GameShark, though (you should probably answer NO).

I doubt they'll give me a brand new PS2, but they said the turnaround was 15 days, so I don't know how likely it is that I'll get mine shipped back to me. I would assume they've got a stock of refurbished ones that they trade you.

I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but why bother to restart if you're just going to blow your way through the game as fast as possible again?

Most of the people above you have said they restarted because it was boring that way and they wanted to do it with some challenge to it. Why waste that time again if you just plan to annihilate everything using an F1 car?

Not me. I plan on doing it Fair this time.:)

Damn you ppl, you have given me the urge to restart even tho im not even at 70% on my second run :p I actually would like to restart so that I can get 100% win ratio. It will take a heck of a long time to win the cars I want in the series races tho... Another problem is that I dont want to lose all my cars and I have no Sharkport/Xport :( Is there a way to have 2 GT3 game saves on one memory card?

It's not as much fun if you use the most overpowered car you can, but there are plenty reasons to restart. You can go for 100% win ratio and/or minimum number of days and/or license gold and/or only purchasing 2 cars.

If you've already got 100%, it's just not as much fun to go back and race old races. Restarting with no cars forces limitations on you, and you have to actually think of what car you're going to get for every race, not just pick one out of your garage.

GT3 Simulation Mode is as much an RPG as it is a driving game. I think it's fun just going around getting cars and upgrading them, much the same way that I think Diablo II is a fun game even though I've got multiple LV99 Hardcore characters and the game really isn't a challenge anymore.

If you just want to race, and you just want a challenge, there's no need to restart at all. You can have challenging races without ever leaving Arcade Mode.

My friend Peter had his MEM card in my console and we were swaping cars, next thing i knew he had saved his game onto my mem card.

MAN I WAS PISSED... the cool thing was he was on about the same % complete as i was so i carried on with his game.

If anyone is getting bored of GT3 Try this one out...

Indeed! And remember how we all used to say that it had the best graphics on PS1?

The license tests are easier, just my opinion, but with everything else you've said here, I wholeheartedly agree.

hehe cheers supra i never knew i was so inspirational  i started again 4 days ago with a suzuki alto and whupped the lightweight k cup to work up a bit of money, yesterday i did the mazda enduro with an mx5 1.8i won from the beginner legue roadster races. with an oil change and t2's i was obvoiusly gonna win i just wanted the money! i couldnt be bothered with the liscences so i used gtc to get all bronze but im not going to use the 10,000,000cr im trying to keep things challenging! i did spend 1,200,000 on a vertigo and fully tuned it but im saving that for the professional races or at least the ones with the gt1 race and r390 race in them

The license tests in GT2 are much, much easier if you're not trying to get gold. You can get Silver on many of them on the first run without watching the demo. To get Gold in GT2, though, is about as hard as GT3.

It's probably easier if you have the wheel, but GT2 is so much more twitchy than GT3, so it's harder to control with a DS2. And the Gold times on some tests are insane. Look at IA-3 in GT2. It's only a 30-sec test, and the Gold time is 1.5 sec lower than the silver time. It is totally impossible to do IA-3 clean. You have to get as far into the grass as possible on the last corner. This test took me as long to do as most of the Super License tests in GT3.
