How do you guys keep the models (cars / bikes) clean? I have built a large shelf to display my models but the dust seems to be a problem.

Well mine are in display cases, except for my CLK GTR.

Anyway, this is all the good ones still worth showing. :P

And some close-ups of my MG Lola.

Yes it's a Scaley without headlight covers.

I haven't got much to add to this thread as i only have 3 larger scale cars, but i'm loving seeing the collections you guys have in this thread.

only pics of 1 of my cars (please excuse the poor quality pics)

 đź‘Ť Damn, really nice with the wide wheels. I did not know that such a beauty is available.

Never mind, I found a nice 911 model for only $56 USD. I got a GT3 RS and a '73 Skyline model for Xmas already. So far away but I don't wanna spend so much money.

Here are most of my models, the shelf I built two years ago and it seemed too big whilst building yet once I started unpacking my collection it suddenly looked small. Note the STi Pic in the background, BTW the shelves are not 'bowing' its the angle of the picture. Only had time to photograph a three models.
How do you guys get to take such nice pictures of your models?

Two words, Rip off.

I bought a real car for $150.. I wouldn't buy a model for anything over $50 when I could buy a Tamiya or Revell kit for $15 and make it look however I want!

Maybe a ripoff for you, but I personally have found more enjoyment from my $70-$150 models than I have from most under $50. That and I can bet many of the $150+ models are more detailed than what most kit builders put out. My 787B (which I paid $100 for 5 years ago) has accurate, functional suspension, removable front aero covers for the wheels, fabric seatbelts, various metal bits in the suspension and chassis, and other little details that you get in more expensive models. Also people forget about the cost to develop these detailed models, which can run over $1 million just in development alone. That and due to changes in regulations in China (where most models are built), cost has been going up due to minimum wage being increased. Not to mention increased costs due to shipping and materials.

Anyway some quick detail shots of my models which range from $60-150 USD:

Pics are of these models:
AUTOart Mazda 787B (2006 release)
AUTOart Lexus LFA (2011 release)
Kyosho Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Competizione (2009 release)
GMP Plymouth GTX Street Fighter X (2008 release)
Highway 61 Dodge Challenger T/A (modded it myself; swapped the engine out for a 426 Hemi and swapped out the seats, both parts from GMP) (2005 release)

Challenger was $60 at release, the LFA $150, the Ferrari $110, the Plymouth $150, and the 787B $130. I paid retail only for the Plymouth and Challenger lol..

I shouldn't walk into this thread anymore. I've already got my hands full with anime figurines and hot wheels, but damn larger scale models are just hard to turn a blind eye to.
