GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Welcome,I have to agree, the handling in the stock car was terrible.now it's easy to drive and easier to take it to the limit now.

I wouldn't call the stock handling "terrible" by any means. I was having some issues putting the power down so I adjusted the lsd. Added my own weight(75kg) to the rear @25. Power is about 360hp. Full aero. That's it. Fully stock default suspension and transmission. It's a very neutral car like that, grips real nice for me. I've run several 7:41's like that.

It's great you put up your tunes to help others out, obviously it's a good set up and has gotten gold for many who couldn't before. But learning this track is far more important if you're struggling. Gave it another run today for 45 minutes and couldn't even make one lap clean!

Wow that 370Z time trial was so hard! It took me up to 50 attempts to win gold and my time was 7:46.500! Now I can breathe easy lol

I put this Seasonal off until yesterday and then read this thread. The comments regarding it's difficulty had me concerned.

I got Gold on the TT on my 3rd clean lap (to go along with a handful of red laps and plenty of restarts).

I used lldantell's tune (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7555901#post7555901) which makes the car drive nice! I only made minor LSD adjustments to suit my driving style. It was a fun TT & race.

Good luck to those still trying for Gold!

My tunes was good after the Silvia because the leaf was a bad one.the Nissan 370z tuned car(gt academy)12 was my best tune I have in this thread

I make some changes in suspension and LSD, and race 7:34.751 at TT
For me too much oversteer in you tune.

Looks like Ti-tech has joined the party. I think we're all doomed now  A 7:24 with no ABS is really good.

I love this car because it handles like a dream right now.no more snap oversteer now.this time you got controllable oversteer and a little bit of understeer.it could go around the fast corner full speed and it go around that corner like it not even there.fantastic car

Please let us know what Driving Options you set.
The above works for the race but it's different for TT, much slower car.
Able to get 2nd in race 7:39, but 8:01 on the TT.

For TT, you need 513PP, so what did you put for power limiter?
If you select all the parts off, you still in the 530+ category.

I try to get rid of the understeer because when you driving around the nurburgring, understeer gonna mess you up more then oversteer.so that's why I made that tune

You really don´t need any extra Parts on the Car for the TT , if you only want to win Gold.
The only thing you need to do is , putting some Ballast (about 50 kilos) on the rear of the car and set Aero to 15/27.If you need , you can set TCS to 1.
I only drove it with ABS at 1 and BB at default.

.

Ballast at the rear helped alot but I ran 7.46 with the bone stock car, the most important thing is track knowledge here helps more than a good tune

Wait 7:46.621 right.👍

It say 6:46.621 in the EDIT. That must be a (typo), otherwise I'm calling area 51 and reporting an escaped alien.:lol::lol::bowdown::bowdown:

For the record. I used a DS3 on my 7:45.120 lap.👍

Lol. Yeah, the edit was a minute short. I must have had the time I was entering the final straight in mind ... or a wicked fantasy. I'll re-edit it.

Edit:

I kind of figured that's what time I'd have to hit that in order to make it, but it kind of doesn't matter for me as I can't seem to make a clean lap my lone clean lap was like 8:03 then I was about 10 seconds ahead of my ghost and the car went all wonky on me and I smashed into the wall. I guess I'll try again later.

I'm not an expert, but if you have a reasonable tune, like the lldantell one that many others are making it in, and you are still crashing, try putting Active Steering on "Strong". That was what the top drivers were doing with this car in the actual Academy 2012 Round 8 event. It might just give you a little more control in corners. If that doesn't help or doesn't help enough, it's going to be a matter of running and running the car over the course and getting used to what the car can do on this track before shaving off seconds to reach the required time.

2nd Edit:

What top speed are people hitting down the back straight ?

OK, so using lldantell's tune for the race, I then dropped the Final Gear to 3.467 for the TT. That meant that my top gear topped out a hundred metres before the hill on the final straight and then a couple more times over the hill and towards the braking area. It meant a lot more accelerating through the corners on the rest of the track. The top speed I hit with this gear, on the final straight, was 254km/h.

I stretched the final gear a little so I wouldn't hit the rev limiter. Hitting 165+mph after that little left. Still a little less than 4 seconds off gold time.

I've not had this much trouble with any of these seasonals. to all you aliens and the folks who just like the track.

Oh I'm no alien, and coming into this seasonal (I left if for a few days), I thought I was going to have to put in a lot of track practice here.

165m/h is 265.5km/h and, for me at least, that's a little high. I'd suggest moving the Final Gear down so that the top speed you hit on that straight is 157.8m/h or 255km/h. This will give you a little more drive out of corners which you can then focus on taking advantage of.

I say this because I had a top speed of about yours on the straight and then I brought it down and over two laps wiped off the time needed. Hitting the rev limiter near the end of the straight is no great loss if the lower gears help out over the rest of the track. It's worth a try if you're stuck.

Finally did it, but have made some adjustment to the ishawi setup.

Thanks for your borrow your car.

Sorry mate, but the car was little bit too nervous for me and since I'm not Schumacher I needed more stability and powerful brakes in this case ... :)
My time was 7:32,438.

This is what I have changed.

Set final gear at 3.223
Set Top speed 340
Set gear ratios
1st 3.596
2nd 2.379
3rd 1.719
4th 1.304

6th 0.869

Suspension
Ride height -20/-20 Camber 0.9
Spring rate 9.3/10.0

Brakes 8/6

This is definitely the hardest of these seasonals. Up till now I've been doing the TTs stock and reversible tuning only for the races but here I've had to go the whole hog using *lldantell's tune and still only got silver in the TT and 4th in the race. I'm sure given a few more tries I can win them but I'm running out of time. Anyone know when it ends? I'm not going to get on the PS3 for a while and it would be shame not to finish the series having come this far.

* Great tune. Thanks for sharing. The car handles like a dream, if only I could make full use of it.

Yes, I know ... I'm very glad with your setup .... this is really something personal .... no hard feelings mate.
Well done and thanks for borrow your car too.

Well, I'm a bit stubborn about this point. Under the conditions of a track having a long enough straight to do it, if the car is hitting the "chip" in its highest gear, something isn't right. I respectfully disagree with you about it not being important in relation to better drive out of corners. There are many more variables to take into account for how fast you get up to speed coming out of a turn. Most of those variables are driver related, if my experiences in gt5 spec racing are used.

i have a little problem... i need a tune for the official academy suit...because that was what i got last week instead of a car...i think PD wants me to run the tt in the suit...and yes i got gold on all events

Might I suggest a cummerbund and bow-tie. It won't make you any faster but you will look very elegant.

I'm wearing the GT Academy suit, and so far, my best time is 98 minutes.

The up-hills really slow me down, since otherwise I had thoughts of touching 97 minutes.

I have avoided the cummerbund upgrade, but my current feeling is that it may be necessary if I want to get the most out of the suit.

Currently on a cool-down run,

Well, just to update, I am able to get the silver on the TT, golded the race.
I'm using the controller btw, just can't seem to gold this TT. (7:50 at best)
Better than not getting anything, so your tune is great.

I use the driving line and load up the top ghost, who smokes me by 30+ seconds near the end.

I hit the straightaway at around 6:55, I'm guessing I need to hit it way before. Admittingly it's tougher to control the acceleration with the X button, even with traction set to 5, too much gas and your car loses control somewhat.

Here's a couple vids I made (same race)..

-No driving aids - No ABS - upgraded exhaust and intake, suspension, trans, etc.. no engine or weight upgrades.

About 7:34:10.. Had faster lap by a couple seconds, but I came in second that race.. couldn't make the pass at the end for that one..

Pretty clean race, hit second ai that I passed when he turned into me around a corner. Was trying for fairly clean run.

Using Fanatec CSR wheel, CSR Elite pedals, Sim-Seats SRX sim rig.

TV Cam view- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q46OJD-ZSns

Help, help, please help :nervous:
I want to do RACE without engine upgrade or weight reduction.
I need good setup. I'm trying lldantell setup without upgrades and I'm only 2nd :-(
Can you help me BWX or anyone?
