Am i the only one who thinks the missions are a bit ****? B8 wasn't so bad as its more like a normal race being 3 laps, but trying to overtake 15 cars in one lap just makes for frustrations and a bit of a mess.
For example on A8 you have around 8 cars virtually side by side for the first 6 or so corners, you can't touch them otherwise you run the risk of getting a time penalty, you can race the racing line as youd have to slow down so much for them costing you first position immediately, you cant cut inside them and use the grass slightly as youll get a time penalty. So most the time you have to take the outside line and you frequently have some tw*t (primarily the evo just after the first bend if your not quick enough) cutting out in front of you and braking hard...its just a trial and error mess until you find the line where you can keep you speed up and not get a time penalty for one reason or another.
The time penalty seems a mess too, sometimes you barely scrape someone or its completely the AI's fault and you get a 7 second penalty...then you skid into someone at 70mph hitting them with the side of your car so you are parallel and you dont get any penalty. Its a mess and needs to be removed for gt5...if theyre not going to do damage (i dont care about visual, just physical damage to the car) then stop penalising the user for driving faster and more agresively than the AI. Maybe it should only penalise the user for t-boning a car on turns as thats where the real problem is when you dont simulate damage.
