Yesterday I visited the Sepang International Circuit for a charity event organized to collect donations for the recent flood victims in Malaysia. Visitors pay between RM300 to RM1000 (depending on the class of supercars) for a 3-lap taxi ride around the circuit in supercars driven by either the owners themselves or professional race drivers.
Class 1 cars:
Porsches (993, 996, 997) Ferraris (355 & 360) and a BMW M6.
Class 2 cars:
Lamborghini (Gallardo), Aston Martin (DB9), Porsches (996 Turbo & GT2, 997 Turbo & GT3RS), Ferraris (360 Challange Stradale & F430).
Class 3 cars:
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 & Gemballa Avalanche GTR650.
Earlier event fliers listed an Enzo, F50, Carrera GT and Gemballa Mirage GT as participating cars but to my disappointment those cars were not there.
I arrived at the track around 2:30PM. The special supercars parking lot was pretty full of Porsches, ranging from older 911s to 997s, plus a couple of F355s and some other cars...
...plus this lovely beast.
After spending quite some time in the parking lot, I headed straight to the pits and was greeted with this lovely view:
I don't think the driver of the Murcie floored it as he left the pits, as the car sounded pretty muted. However, once he drove past the main straight the car sounded absolutely thunderous. Personally, I think the loudest cars on that day was the Gallardo, Hamann 360 and the 360CS.
Hope you guys like the pics, my apologies if the write-up isn't great. I'll post more pics soon.
