How do you beat A-8?

Hey guys! :D I'm new here. I bought GT5:Prologue when it came out, and beat it ages ago and decided to restart it now. I've completed all the events but A-8; the one where you get in the Ferrari F430 and overtake all your rivals in one lap.

I have absolutely no idea how to beat this; I've been at it for 6 hours and the best I placed was 7th. I'm using the Ps3 controller... and I use the pit lane thing at the beginning but that only gets me to 14th place, I can't overtake any of the other cars after that.

I personally think it's because I screw up at the turns, so, yeah. Help? :yuck:

Stop screwing up at the turns?

But, really, there is no magic bullet other than practice. Slow in, fast out - remember the mantra. Being smooth and in control leads to being fast.

It's a tricky one hehe the most important part is the last corners if you are quick enaugh out from the corner you will make it.

I still haven't achieved gold in this one. It's very difficult in Spec III without banging other cars out of the way and shortcutting the bus stop. So my suggestion is to just aim for bronze and move on.

well let's see how I beat it.

I dropped my physics to standard
cut the first corner as hard as I could.
rammed into expensive ferraris in the first few corners instead of braking
used exaggerated drafting to catch up when the tracked opened up
used an illegally low line when there was nobody to draft
and I took that second little jog practically sideways

...silver
freaking silver for all that cheating and all those attempts. I'm not proud of that one.

this guy did it though

Interestingly it does seem it was easier to do in Spec II. I struggled with it back then and finally got gold by being "liberal" with my line in the busstop. That was when I had only been playing GT for a few hours.

Now I have hundreds of hours (at least) and what used to seem hard is now easy. But where other "hard" races like the Eiger M3 TT and S10 are now easy to me (in std physics) this one is still difficult.

Yeah lol. I've been trying it with the other tips and I noticed that toward the beginning (Before you get into the actual oval), the F40 just owns me at the turns. Apart from that... I was 0.2 seconds away from 3rd lol.
I've been at it for a few hours now lol, I guess I'll just keep trying. So close to tuning :(.

Wooh! About time. :D. I finally got silver. The trick was turning TCS off lol, the game played itself after that. <3. Thanks guys!.
