When playing GT5 prologue i noticed a possible hint about the tracks for GT5. When signed in on the Playstation network, you will see a weather update on the right side of the homemenu. The places in this update are all racetracks, some of them are already used in GT4 and Gt5p. Why did Polyphony used this names? I'm confinced this is not a random choice. For example, the tracks of Spa Francorchamps and Zolder (in the small country of Belgium) are both in this list, on a global scale not very interesting for a wheater update.

The tracks on this list are:

NEW - Jerez (Spain)(MotoGP)

NEW - Estoril (Portugal)(MotoGP)

NEW - Hockenheim (Germany)(F1 track)
GT4 - Nürburg (Germany)(Nordschleife and F1 track??)

NEW - Zolder (Belgium)(GT2-3-4)
NEW - Spa (Francorchamps)(Belgium)(F1 track - 24hours of Spa GT) Best track ever!

GT4 - Montery (Laguna Seca)(USA)(MotoGP)
GT4 - Sonoma (Infineon Raceway)(USA)
GT5p - Daytona beach (Daytona International Speedway)(USA)

NEW - Monza (Italy)(F1 track)
NEW - Imola (San Marino / Italy)(former F1 track)(oficial name:Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari)

NEW - Shanghai (China)(F1 track)

NEW - Brands Hatch (Great Britain)(MotoGP and a former F1 track)
NEW - Silverstone (Great Britain)(F1 track)

GT4 - Le Mans (France)(24h de le Mans)
GT4 - Monte Carlo (Monaco / France)(F1 track)
NEW - Magny-Cours (France)(F1 track)

GT4 - Motegi (Japan)
GT5p - Fuji (Japan)(F1 track)
GT4 - Tsukuba (Japan)
GT5p - Suzuka (Japan)(F1 track)

With a big possibility I think this will be the list of official licensed tracks for GT5. I remember when GT5 prologue was released, Kazunori Yamauchi told in a interview that a full F1 season in Gran Turismo is a possibility for future editions. Seeing this list of tracks tells me that this is the direction they are going right now. (MotoGP track=a new Tourist Throphy??)

Its no fact that ever since GT3 PD have been progressively making open-wheel racing part of GT experience and I think the appearance of the F2007 in GT prolouge show their intention.

Aside from that I'm shocked that Jerez even make made the cut in GT5 given the fact its mainly used by FIM/Dorna to stage MotoGP races.

It doesn't necessarily mean they will be focusing on F1 tracks. I think they just used those places because they know the majority of players will be fans of motorsports and be aware of the significance of those tracks.

Why would they advertise the weather in an area irrelevant to motorsport in a driving simulator?

It would be nice to have a full set of F1 cars/tracks. But GT has always had a huge and diverse collection of cars, so it might not be wise to spend more time on F1 than other cars/tracks

Jerez is one of the major testing tracks for a number of the F1 teams.

Interesting find. This doesn't necessarily mean that there will be F1, but I sure would like it. I really want to see how GT5 is shaping up. I honestly think about it every day.

I think maybe one or two new F1 tracks can be expected, but certainly not all of them. Spa Francorchamps being the most likely to make an appearance.

The bulk of the F1 tracks in GT5 will be original circuits, i would be very surprised if they had even half of the official F1 circuits (or past circuits).

One grammatical correction: It's 24h du Mans. de & le combines to make du. Unlike de & la.

For example: Circuit de La Sarthe.

They're not interchangeable.
In context, was that grammar lesson really necessary? Still, being pedantic you should have written, "de & le combine to make du.", not "combines".

On-topic, I hope that one day PD get the opportunity to develop a full F1 game. That would be awesome!

I was under the impression to get the F2007 in the game, PD had to get an agreement with the FIA aswell as Ferrari? I may be wrong though. I suppose since it didn't actually say 'Formula One' they could bypass the FIA.

If anyone wants another hint at possible track layouts for GT5 take a look at the Prologue's ending credit's movie.;)👍

It would be great if Spa-Francorchamps was in the game. It would be totally awesome if PD also put in the old 14km version of Spa. I just love long tracks :)

To reply to the list.

Aren't tracks where F1 races on. Okay, they are reallife tracks, but still.
Racing on a F1 game isn't that exiting. The diffrence between the cars aren't that big and the big thrill in F1 is the braking and perhaps the cornering speed.

Besides, Sony had/got the F1 rights, but the F1-franchises lakes detail and isn't fun to drive.

So if PD could ake it into the game, I doubt if the complete season would be in.
But imagine driving a Lotus 49, Ferrari 312T2/F93a of Williams Fw14b. That would be awesom.

I won't be surprised if Bernie Ecclestone gives them the license for future F1 games. Right now, the latest F1 game will be out in March, IIRC.

I think I posted this a while ago, but I would refer to the end movie of GT5P which has track maps scattered all over the credits, I would think this is a good starting point for knowing what tracks are going to be available in GT5 (or tracks I would hope were in GT5 because there are alot of them). I would love to see all the top tracks posted in the other thread though.

I would be very surprised if he gave PD the license. First he wants large amounts of money, which PD will be unwilling to pay and secondly, PD will not be able to release a new one each year without compromising Gran Turismo as a whole in my opinion.

I think he should give them a one off license for each game so they can include the Formula One cars/teams, tracks and brand as a championship, but the main license should remain with a different company to release one each year, its the way it has always been done.

Yep, I would defiantly be interested in flying round Silverstone in a nice Esprit V8. Heres hoping we will see Silverstone make it into GT5 along with all 4 variations 👍

Well PD could also add Interlagos to make me happy. :dopey:

And maybe some south american racing series, like the Brazilian V8 Stock Cars and the Argentinian TC2000.

with the presence of the greats like LaSarthe, Monaco, Monza, Imola, I think the game needs Sebring, Road Atlanta, Road America, Interlagos. Two of the most important tracks in racing are missing here! Silverstone and Indianapolis.

I hope PD sees this. I'd like to see see some tracks reinvented:
Hockenheim(the lost spirit of hockenheim and Formula 1). Damn, they planted forest where the old track was. I hope they collect data of the old track and give it to us
Avus - the original layout will be one unique place to race on
Spa - older layout
These tracks may not be possible to recreate accurately but i think everyone would like to race on these tracks
Pikes peak hill climb track

The tracks ever that made a difference to the GT series were the original tracks, high speed ring, grindlewald, red rock, complex string, and others that i forget the name of. if you want to race tracks that came on the scene after the 1990's Microprose World circuit, then get the F1 games. Its not the cars that make F1 boring, its the tracks.

I can't even tell you guys how awesome it would be to see in the game a track that is actualy ~5km away from my house... :dopey:
