Time Traveler Caught in Museum Photo?

Well, they say what he's wearing is accurate for the time period he was in. I would have thought that if they did have time travel in the future, you couldn't interfere with the past, no matter how tempting it is to kill Hitler well before he led Germany to self-destruction.

The man with what appears to be very modern sunglasses seems to be wearing a stamped T-shirt with a nice sweater, all the while holding a portable compact camera!

Unless he's holding a flux capacitor it's not the real deal.

Clear conclusion:

Once again, it must be clear that even if this photograph is authentic, even if it depicts a real scene from 1940, it would not be the proof of time travel. Alas.

Even if something looks out of time in old pictures, looking at it in detail you notice it might just have been ahead of the rest, looking differently.
I understand the excitement, do not participate though.

I think its been shopped... Look at his hands... just like the article said those arms holding the camera belong to man behind him, big perspective error there... Interesting read though!

He's wearing period style Wayfarers with some kind of shielding at the sides. His 'stamped T-shirt is a pattern knitted sweater and his portable compact camera is a box-brownie or the like. Myth busted.

Killing Hitler before he comes to power is killing an innocent man.

Not to mention, killing hitler may cause you to not have been born and thus unable to go back in time and kill Hitler.

Time paradox's are fun.

Given the decline of the standard of dress since those days, I wouldn't be surprised if he was from the future.

Alternatively, this may be an even more important archeological finding: The first modern douchebag.

hahaha some real funny comments right there :D

I just found it interesting and thought i'd share it here. Didn't really think that he was from the future, just photo shopped into the image, but wouldnt they people in the museum have realised that??

Chris

Reading the article it seems inconclusive wether he was or was not photoshopped into the image. However they do say that even if he was all of his clothing is consistent with the time period. While they do not conclusively come out and say it in the article, they have basically debunked the myth.

I think he was genuinely there, but he's not a time traveller; he was just fly.

:scared:

Depends...

Most people think time is linear, but in reality most recent studies show its not. Depending on what theory that counts, you could go back and change stuff, as it wouldn't be "back". Some theorys have "time" going backwards, others have everything happen at once. And others again have multiple things happening at the same time, with different solutions to given situations, and multiverses.

Time paradox's are fun. indeed.

OK, how about the early 20's, when he has become the leader of the Nazis, but they're still a bunch of whack-jobs stuck in Munich.

I cannot imagine a world without WW2, the aftermath and the Baby Boomers that followed afterward. Without the baby boomers, certain TV shows may have not become successful, certain cars may not have been designed or built, the issue of human rights probably would not have been addressed until far later. Vietnam, the war protesters, rock bands like the Beatles, muscle cars, mid-engined supercars, I could go on and on. WW2's legacy still has an impact on us today. Not to mention technology like radar, and jet engined planes (that's a big one). I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Besides, would you really want a C&C Red Alert universe where the Soviets became the aggressors instead?

Fantastic article!!

I look forward to what we will find out in my lifetime!
