Am I alone when I dont "like" the pure race..

Just asking you all if Im alone with the opinion that I dont like the pure racecars?

I love the game were you can use streetcars like the Supra, BMW, Mustangs and so on.

But find the racecars events were you have to use say the Minolta Racecars realy boring.
 
I am with you, I prefer street cars. And going further, I prefer stock street cars. I don't get why you are forced to mod most cars you buy in order to win the races (in B-spec it's impossible to win with stock cars...).

It would be great if we had a way of removing all the mods from the cars with the touch of a button, as in Forza. That way we'd have the best of both worlds, race cars and stock cars. The need to buy two cars just to drive one stock is plainly bad design. It's a frigging game, come on.
 
I prefer a variety of racecars.

The problem is the lack of championships, the slow AI in streetcars events, and the lack (most of the times) of limitations in each series. You can use the formula GT in a lot of them for exemple.
 
I agree, I love taking normal cars, especially around the Nurburgring :) The Lupo only race was lots of fun.
That alone makes this game the most fun I've had on my PS3 yet :)
 
I like both, but I love racecars. I've got about 4 more Indy's to grind to get my Peugeot 908. :) I also purchased the Audi R10 this week, and I have the Formula GT. Those have easily been my biggest purchases. Also bought a McLaren MP4 early on in my Career Mode.
 
I quite like the SuperGT cars, but I don't like cars that feel like they are on rails.

I'd certainly avoid using racing medium and softs where possible.
 
Depends on what type of race car your talking about.

I like the older race cars (Mark IV, XJ-13, 330 P4, etc.) as well as some of the "new" race cars (mostly Super GT), rally cars, and the X1 :P.

Not a big fan of LeMans prototypes and LMP cars though...I blame Forza for that (widespread in the open class race hoppers-every race you'll see R1, R1, R1, S, R1...and so forth...so boring). They're ok in GT5 though as they handle much better and look and sound good.

NASCAR is "meh". Not a big fan, but they're ok. Same with touring cars.
 
I really wish GT had a decal editor like Forza. It would be great to have your unique car online.

It would also give more of that street car feel.

Yeah I pretty much agree - the appeal of Gran Turismo to me has always been the ability to buy, modify and compete with road legal retail cars and now with the drifting section avaliable I have also had a great time making drift cars out of low performance cars. For example the first drift car I made on GT5 was the Samba Bus!

In saying that as I advance I am enjoying using the odd race car in the later events just for sake of contrast. Same with the go karts, I love the variety in this game!
 
Same here, I don't enjoy driving the race cars as much, so no, you're not alone.

At least there's the choice :)
 
I'm not a fan of race livery or just about any livery. I want a livery editor so that I can remove livery on cars. :)

They could start by at least letting us choose two colours for two colour cars (two tone, racing stripes etc)..... uh, just one of the stupid omissions from this game.
 
I like driving the racecars sometimes. Like an online NASCAR event, Le Mans event, or just general lap time tomfoolery in racecars is fun every once in a while.

But the real fun for me is under 200HP in the dirt. Particularly Eiger Norwand G Trail Reverse with under 200HP. Very fun, especially on the back hill climb section. Lately I have taken to a bone stock Honda S800 in the dirt, such a pure experience of ringing its neck at 8000rpm going around corners sideways, then remembering it only has 66HP. Although I have been known to limit the power to 108HP, so everyone in the lobby will use a Prius. Then they meet my monster Kubelwagen!

It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.
 
Allways feels good that you are not alone :D

I hope they make more events were you can use "roadcars" and win.

Make events were there is a restriction against racemodded cars and a max HP.

And events thats stock only(You should be alowed to use other tyers though) and I would be happy.
