I just bought July edition of Hobby Consolas , a Spanish videogames magazine and found an article inwhich they claim their reporter in Tokyo had a small talk with Kazunori Yamauchi , who confirmed the following :
1- GT4 will be the last gt game for PS2.
2- Working on GT5 will start immediately after the release of GT4 this year !!
3- The release date for Spain is : sometime around christmas 2004.
4- ( the already known of course , + 500 cars , 50 tracks , new game modes , online mode , the presence of European exotics like Mercedes , BMW , and Lotus).
Finally , the magazine posted a unique picture of a game model Lancia Delta S4 I haven't seen anywhere before , not worth scanning and posting here anyway. 👍 👍 👍
 
1 , 2 , and 3 are just for cardinal order of gt4 confirmed facts. And GT 5 will be on PS3 of course . who talked about PSP anyway ?

What an absolute shame. A whole 5 years, now let me sympathise with you. Get over it.

Thats AGESSSSSSSSS away.....I thought it would come sooner then that!

But even if it is in 2009........looking on the good side of things.......PD will be designing GT5 with a time of just over 4 years..........think about how much stuff will be crammed into that game!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

ur right, it will probably have like 50% of the cars in the world, and the graphics will be photorealistic, or nearly, ps3 will be coming out in 2009, and GT5 will prolly come out in 2012
 
o_O The PS3 is being whispered as a 2006 release, but we're getting ahead of ourselves.

A PSP version has been confirmed, and there are a few threads dedicated to it around the forums.

ummm i dont think its even 50% done, and i read a lot of reviews, and they extended tha date from 2005 to like 3-5 more years
 
yup ps3 seems geared for a 2006 release date, damn gt5 will look awesome :dopey:

edit** damn everyone will be so busy with gt4....good times coming up ahead....
 
There is absolutely no way that they are going to flounder over the next 5 years with the PS2 while Microsoft and Nintendo release new systems. I'm guessing 2006-2007 at the latest for the PS3.

I don't really care when the PS3 comes out. With the way game developers are going now it'll be nothing of what it once was. All this graphical power is steering developers away from making good games, I just hope enough good ones come out to keep everyone happy.

This rumor was floating around over a year ago. But, since then, delays in the hardware have pushed back this rumored date.

I think the end of 2006, early 2007, is a safe bet.

Haven't we been waiting 5 years for GT4 already ?... Sure as h3ll feels like it :crazy:

The PS3 will get here when it gets here, like GT4 etc. 3-5 more years? Unrealistic magazine you're reading.
 
By the way , the Lancia Delta S4 screenshot I mentioned is amazing , and the magazine posted it just to compare the car design quality of GT4 compared to the coming racers of 2004 like CMR RALLY 2005 , WRC ? NFS UG 2 , MOTOR FORZA, JUICED .......... Well , nothing compares to GT4.

I read somewhere that KY would make GT4 so incredibly HUGE that we're all gonna be playing it by the time GT5 comes out. Then there's GT5......:eek:

And I heard that PS3 would be realesed late in 2005 and the beggining of 2006.
 
I doubt it won't be out before 2009 - with new machines due out soon from rivals - theres no way they'll leave it as long as that. What would that be? - 8 years between PS2 and PS3?
 
PS1 was realesed in 1994 and PS2 in 2000 (right?).
So I think it's 5-6 years between every PS console.

Is there any way that you can upload that amazing S4 screenshot?

Is it really a new not seen before shot of the S,4 are you sure?
 
I heard PS3 in 2006... which would be inline with Xbox 2 and the new Nintendo system (they all usually release consoles within a year of each other).

We'll prolly see GT5 in 2008, but no doubt in will blow our minds... GT4 gonna do it on the PS2... and with the new processor Sony's developing...

Nizar, please post the pic so we can check it out and let you know if the mag is on point or a load of rubbish.

Nothing really new in the other points... been talking about that stuff @ GTP for a while, although i wouldn't classify Mercs and BMWs as european exotics... i think Noble, Ruf, Koneigsegg, Lambo, Bugatti, McLaren, and the beloved Ferrari fit that bill better.

Is it possible for you to scan the mag? I wouldn't mind seeing the comparsion, gt4 owns :D
 
I'm pretty sure the 2009 rumour came from the 10 year lifespan announcemnet from Sony at E3.

What some people don't seem to realise is that a product, I.E. the PS2 can be on sale for 10 years, but the PS3 will be released before the 10 year lifespan has been completed.

Afterall the PSONE is still selling well as a budget console, alongside the PS2.

The PS2 will play the same role alongside the PS3!
