Ok, it's not long until GT4 is released and I know alot of people will want times to aim at.

I posted this elsewhere, but thought I might warrant it's own thread, it's popularity will decide that.

Below is a list of times, all confirmed...

Hmmmmmmmmm

BMW m3 gtr schnitzer - 7.12.25 👍

but not many ppl would go as fast the porsche 956 did
at the old track....
ive seen a video of Derek Bell doing 6.41
But Stefan Bellofs record is 6.11

The NSX-R's time is actually 7:56, proved by an onboard video from, I believe, Best Motoring.

The Carrera GT just recently set its official time (which I incidentally regard as #1 because the Radical is way too borderline).

Stuttgart. The Carrera GT is the fastest car to lap the Nürburgring North Circuit. With the clock showing 7’32.44 minutes, Horst von Saurma, Chief Editor of the German specialist magazine “sport auto,” achieved a new record for road-approved vehicles, at the wheel of the 612 HP strong Porsche. He completed the 22.6 km long round in the Eifel at an average speed of 164 km/h.

"It was really touch and go. The circuit was dirty in some sectors, which didn’t make it any easier,” beamed Horst von Saurma with glee, after his record round.

For ten years the magazine has been awarding an (unofficial) challenge cup to the driver who drives the fastest round on the Nürburgring using a road-approved car. Thus the race for the best time round the circuit has become a prestigious affair, as Nürburgring is still the best and most honest test of the quality of a vehicle chassis, motor performance, aerodynamics and naturally of tires. Since 1995, times have gradually improved from 7’52 minutes to the current 7’32.44 minutes. Wolfgang Dürheimer, Member of Porsche’s Management Board responsible for Research and Development: “The time achieved by Horst von Saurma is excellent and demonstrates the potential of our car. Until recently such times could exclusively be clocked up with pure racing prototypes.”

The journalist von Saurma clocked up the fastest round in the context of a so-called “super test,” which the magazine executes regularly. Top times on the Nürburgring, always driven by the same tester, are among the criteria. Wolfgang Dürheimer: “It is precisely for this reason that the 7’32.44 minutes are so easy for us to put in to context and are thus valuable.”

Draugen, ok... Car's in the game suppose, I'll have to bold the slick times, me thinks.

mclaren777: I have to agree with you on the Radical's time. But you have to admit it's pretty impressive all the same.

I could drive a Radical SR3 Turbo on our roads quite happily. Which also means it's road legal in Europe (since our standards are so similar, every road car built in the territories is legal everywhere). Meaning it's road legal in Germany, where the lap time was set.

So, I don't really get what the problem with the Radical's time is (although that one was done on slicks, which may or may not have been totally road legal, I've seen a 7'26 from a Radical on 100% road legal tyres).

which may or may not have been totally road legal,

In Germay the TÜV decides what´s legal or not. The TÜV can add slicks to the cars papers so they are legal with limitations. Our local BMW dealer owns an M3 with slicks but he is only allowed the drive it when it´s dry outside an when the asphalt temperature is 20 degrees (celsius) or higher. This means he can drive the car about 30 days a year... :-)

Yeah! the Carrera GT must be the fastest nowdays!!
With an engine that sounds more like a F1 cars :)

But we are going 2 do some tuning in GT4....
That means 1000hk+ cars :scared:

Hmmmmm..... under 7min????
👍

Hmmm, the newest STi has apparently made a 7:59 lap in JDM Spec-C form, but I don't know where that can be verified.

Thanks for that 👍

Skimming over the Spec C review, it seems to be the same review I read in a magazine translated over to German. I believe it was in Evo a few months back, I'll check the piles when I'm back home for the weekend.

The following is taken from the article on the Radical web-site (itself reprinted from Autocar), which hellnback first posted above.

http://www.radicalmotorsport.com/me...ering/index.php

"The Radical was on road-legal Dunlop Formula Rs to comply with the record's one and only regulation. If it was on slicks I think my head may have fallen off. I thought the harness was tight, but when Bennett turned in to the first truly quick left-hand bend. Schwedenkreuz, at a nadge over 160mph, I was thrown around like a rag doll."

The 7mins 19.7secs was done within the road-car lap records requirements, on road legal tyres, the same tyres that any car attempting the records can wear. The Radical meets the requirements for, and holds the official road-car lap record, it is in no way borderline. Sorry mclaren777, you may not agree, but it does hold the No.1 road-car time.

While you change the bold text on its entry, you may want to add the following laptime, the previous record holder (details are taken from the same article).

"Porsche 911 Gemballa GTR600 with a blistering lap of 7min 32sec"

Again on road-legal tyres.

I know that, but when the list was done and now still Donkervoort didn't even get mentioned in have a chance of being in GT4. F/L/P were there 'incase'.

You can even make slicks road legal in Germany, but with limitations. In Germany there is an organization called TÜV that decides what is road legal or not. The TÜV offers services including engineering, testing, consultancy and homologation. If you change or do anything on your car, you have to show it the guys at the TÜV. It´s not like in America where you i.e. simply put a huge wing on your car or darken the windows and noone cares. Here in Germany you have to go to the TÜV with your changes first and they decide, wether the changes are OK or not. If you want slicks on a road car, they will probably allow this but with limitations. Our local BMW-dealer owns a M3 with slicks. But he is only allowed to drive the car when it is dry and the asphalt has the proper temperature (I don´t know the temperature range, but it has to be warm). It´s all written in the papers by the TÜV. Let us say he drives the car while it is raining and the police stops him. Bad luck, because he is then driving a car that is not street legal. No insurance would pay in case of an accident. But when it is warm and dry, he has a street legal car with slicks.

You're missing the fastest production car around the Nordschleife. The Donkervoort 270 RS. It did a lap in 7,18.01.

It's not that hellnback hasn't provided the correct lap times but the website for Nurburgring itself, from which he pulled the information from, which does not contain this info... :)

UK cars can't be immatriculated in any other european countries, this country has almost no limitations in what you call road-legal cars I'm sorry but you UK people live in a dreamland and you don't even know it..in Switzerland where I live NOTHING except stock cars is road legal and when I say stock I mean generic family cars made from a big industry leader, heavy lousy and slow is ok anything that looks like a racing car is NOT ok F50s are banned from the country etc... etc...
you can't modify anything that would add even 0,1dB more noise this must be one of the worst country concerning what is street-legal :/
Of course unless you've got a lot of money but even like that a car like the radical would NEVER be street legal in switzerland i don't even think they would let you enter the country with it.

No really no no and no a radical is not a "street car" it's a track car closer to a F1 than to a Peugeot 206 so I really don't think it should be in the same list as "regular" cars.

and btw full slicks are definitely illegal except in UK perhaps ;)

Swiss road laws are weird. Jeremy Clarkson drove a TVR Griffith 500 through Switzerland just to piss the Green Party off...

I like the thing with the numberplates though. Everywhere else in the world, a plate is applied to a car. In Switzerland it's applied to a person, and there's a directory you can buy with their names, addresses and car the plate was last used on. So if some tosser cuts you up, look him up and go round his house...

Full slicks are, of course, illegal in the UK (minimum of 2mm tread depth over the centre 75% of the tyre). I added the "may or may not be legal" part as I am unfamiliar with German road traffic laws.

However, like it or not, the Radical SR3 Turbo is designed as a road-legal track car and comes, from the factory, with all the extra, weight-increasing accoutrements that a track car can do away with but a road car MUST have.

Anyone who has the game please record or at least run a hot lap of the nurburgring in a TVR speed 12. I just wondered how it compare to the times set on Project Gotham Racing 2

"Not" everywhere else in the world... In Belgium your plate is also attached to the person not the car

Well, you live and learn.

Is there also a freely available (for a small sum, at least) directory of each number plate, the person it is attached to and their address?
