I'm bored.

So, every Sunday from now until I forget, I'll post up 10 "general knowledge" questions. Now, it's pretty much a given that if you Google it, or go to Wikipedia, you'll get 20/20 (each question is worth 2 points - 1 point for a close answer), but where's the fun in that?

There will be quite some bias towards UK general knowledge - though I'll try to keep the questions as universal as possible, you must appreciate that I am based in the UK and won't necessarily be aware that you have NO clue what a farthing even is... Similarly I don't know or care how many nickels there are in a dime.

PM me your answers during the week and I'll post up the answers and points each Saturday.

edit: Och, 40% is still a pass ;)

only 10? Are you sure? Stewards enquiry....

And see the golf clubs one? I wasn't counting the one the golfer had in his hand, and the one the caddy was carrying...

Indeed... I'm a french canadian and I knew 2 answers and maybe 3 and others were just random guesses. :yuck: But that's okay. I'll learn new things. 👍

There is a clue in question 3 - apart from the question itself - to the answer. The books are relatively well-known worldwide, though only daan has got it right to this point.

I dont know half of these questions so I'll just skip this;)
1) I never played golf. 2) Lol I never saw rugby or payed attention to it. 3) I dont like to read, except if it's in an owning forum. 4) Whats furlong?! But well I dont messure with miles anyway;). 5) dont have a clue.....

I give up:lol:

I wish Famine would've asked, "What is the maximum number of balls a player is allowed to have in his bag while playing?"

Couldn't get all of them, pretty sure of the ones I did get.

Man, did I get lucky. I just did a report on the British government and my friend plays rugby. So, the highest I might get is probably 8.

i answered "no idea" to most of them. i think i only answered 5 and i think i only got two.

maybe i can get bonus points for saying there are two nickels in a dime?

Hmmmm, seeing as how this goes all week I've got a bit of a plan:

I'm going to ask my friends and colleagues. Sort of like a cross-word, no Google though!

Together we should be able to answer the majority I would think.

I'll make my submission in a couple of days. :)

^ Kind of defeats the purpose of not using google doesn't it, youre still asking for the answers becasue you don't know.

So, I shouldn't do this then?

It's up to you, I wouldn't cos it's not your answer, it's the same as looking in an encyclopedia or searching on google.

I think I did fairly well. I watch Rugby League, I knew the football one, I've been to Llantrisant and I have some of Buster's music.

OK, I won't then. I'll fail miserably on my own then... :grumpy:
