If you go into "My GTPlanet", then click "Send New Message", you can still send one.

well at least we didnt loose any data.
My friends server went down a couple of weeks ago and he lost ALL data in his forum including the poor new members accounts!!
That was my worst fear here.
 
phpbb's server went down the other week. That was hell, as the back-ups on the old server wern't compatible with the new server. So all forums on that server had to start over. :(

I got that about 5 minutes ago after sending a pm to drew22.
 
PM box seems corrupted in some way, but the alert that displays new PMs works. I could see my new PMs when I get connected, but had the error message displayed when I tried to look at them again.
 
Going to GTPlanet.org a number of times last night, I noticed that there isn’t a background colour defined. So anyone who has a default BG colour other than white won’t see the page as it was intended to look.

EDIT: You have a blog now … that wasn’t up when I went to sleep. Oh well. :indiff:
 
Another problem, in anywhere but the forums, I get this at the top of each page:

 
Yeah, I'm aware of those. I'll work on the avatars, too. :indiff: Unfortunately, these issues probably won't get resolved until tomorrow.
 
Attachment uploading is also affected, I've just tried to attach a replay to a race report, and it resets to blank "browse" boxes after you hit the upload button after selecting the file.

Oh well, guess we'll just have to be patient. Hope it all works out.

However long it takes Jordan is fine with me. You've done a damn fine job thus far. What is it exactly that messes stuff up? Are they settings that you have to go back and rechange or how exactly do you resolve these things? If it takes too long to explain, please save your time and use it, because I do not absolutely need to know, just curious. 👍
 
Im a forum noob as far as running them goes.

Why did GTP go down? it was down for ages.

Oh, if only it was that simple! It's almost always different, and PHP or MySQL errors almost always require manually editing config files. I usually have to figure out what to change by asking for help from server administrators on other forums. In this case, we had some very serious problems that were over my head. Fortunately, I was able to hire some professionals who were able to figure out exactly what was going wrong. 👍
 
I keep getting www.gtplanet.net timed out while trying to reach site error.

I just have to hit refesh like 10 times and then it works again...any ideas?
