i recently emailed that maddox guy about his article on civics, cuz i thought he had the wrong idea about all car enthusiasts....i thought id share my point with the GTP community as well.

I have just discovered your site today and man o man is it ever sweet. I felt obligated to write you and tell u how ****ing sweet it is. Great site!
However, your article on Civics and why people waste money on modifying cars like those....kinda passed you off with a general hate towoardst car enthusiasts.
I personally agree with the article, and i DESPISE all of the lameass honda owners around here thinkin theyre all this and that with there little V-TECS.
I am a savvy impot car enthusiast myself, however i do not fall in the same category as these people do, and id just like to share how theres 3 types of "car enthusiast".
First you have the " N00b/t00l Honda Owner" basically any sport compact car owner, (civic, tiburon, miata, lancer, eclipse....list goes on..) And this person follows tv, follows movies like The Fast and The Furious, and thinks that a grocery-getter civic can run 10.5 at the local 1/4 mile cuz it has a APC air filter on it . And that said car can get all the honeys at the local "joint", and of course he could "smoke any V8 that came across his territory"
This guy thinks he all this and all that yeah....and sure u have the same kinda guy with the 98 Integra Type-R that actually does have a 180hp engine, but at the same time thinks he owns the streets cuz his car has i-V-TEC. Yet his driving and shifting skills are severly lacking and therefore causes him several speeding tickets along the way to the local Theatre.
Too many of these people exist...and it pisses me off the chain!!!
note: 3am im too tired to spell correctly i wana go to bed so ill just type like this....)
anyways, i go to high school, grade 12, and all these kids i know, are all impressed by the "mighty civic Si" ahh it fuken pisses me off how these kids either buy, or get there parents to buy $5000-$8000 dollar cars, when theyre a)thinking "yeah ill have a sick ass honda man ill be soo cool"
b) actually not knowing jack **** about cars let alone what a camshaft is, and c) actually getting ripped off cuz an 89 civic CRX Si actually isnt worth $7500cdn (as one of my schoolmates recently had his father purchase for him). When if they actually knew **** theyd a)know what a nissan 240sx is and see its actually a car meant for driving fast etc etc(rear wheel drive **** like that)
b)knew that bodykits and type R stickers dont make them go any faster.
me being a rash, impulsive person that i am, decided to put these people in there places, so i threw out a few comments that got me into this huge arguement about cars and why hondas suck......point is i PWNED them at the end and they shut up, cuz im wayy to smart when it comes to cars.......
the fact is my dad's 2003 Pontiac Sunfire 4door base model has helped me put in place all these fags with there ovedone ricers.....its funny really how 12 grand on a base model car can beat 10 grand cars with 3 or 4k put into them.maybe if they put that 3 grand into the motor where it counts, then they could talk ****.....sad really. these people i constantly have a hate for and laugh at.
so what does this all have to do with ur article??
well the other 2 types of car enthusiast are, me types, and the "conneseurs" which are rich old men that collect them out of passion.
but lets get at the me type, wich i classify as the non-dumbarses.
yes, we buy civics, and we buy integras....but we buy them cuz we know what they acutally are..i for one stick to rear wheel drive 4 cylinders like the nissan 240sx....anyways, people like us "mod" there cars, yeah we tint our windows, yes we have a bodykit here and there, yeah we make our engines sound loud...but what makes us different is that we realise either u mod ur car for a)looks, or b) speed, and "horsepower costs money, how fast can you afford to go" ties in....
to mod a car with both looks, sound system, and motor, all on top of a car that already costs 10k, ud have to be pretty well off in the yearly income department, definetly something NO high skool grad could afford...
see we have our cars, and sure theyre fast, 180, 250hp, and sure they look nice...but where do we use them???? on the track, or on the strip...u wont see us pulling up to you and challenging you to a race at a traffic light....cuz were not ****ing tools of modern fads.......we are not n00bs. we are quiet, and we try to stay away from stupid higway maneuvers and life threatening speeds for no reason. we have the same kinds of cars as these other n00bs do, and yet we laugh at them when they revv there engines next to us at a stoplight.
so, id just like to say....dont hate on us car enthusiasts cuz we soup up cars that arent race cars...........hate on the ones that dont know **** about what theyre doing and go kill innocent people cuz they think that they're paul walker in 2f2f and the car can easily handle a posted 80kmh turn at 160kmh.........**** them, theyre the ones making people like me look bad, theyre the ones that are causing the cops to have prejudice against us cuz our car is from japan and its lowered so it automatically means that were iditos like those ****ing assholes.
we have a passion for cars, and that is why we modify them, these fad following fags are a total different breed....theyre just following what the tv and movies is showing them whats cool.
