Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 76 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    [Division#]---M'SS.XXX---GTP_Tag

  • You can submit only once
  • Please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time

  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

The game came in two covers the first one has the GT-R Spec I in japan and Spec II in PAL and NTSC and the other has the GT by Citroen on the cover Spec III since they released the Spec 3 version on CD as well as an update for the other versions...
if i remember correctly

Yay London in a lotus

I was never aware of this. Is the latest spec in stores in the Maryland area or around?

Your Spec II disk should update to spec III content, as soon as you sign into PSN and start the game. If your PS3 is not connected to the internet, you won't be able to perform the update.

You can most likely find a Spec III copy for a reasonable cost ($5-10) at a used game store in the area, such as Game Stop, or the equivalent.

Hope that helps. 👍

BTW : The Song in your sig is "Stray Cat Strut", by the Stray Cats (Brian Setzer's Band in the 80's).

Cool! But can spec 1 (GT-R cover) update to Spec 3? And when did Spec 3 get released for update?

Correct! You are the first person to figure that out. And, I guess my title gave it away, but I wanted to see if anybody noticed both at the same time. Gonna put a new one up.

Spec III was released in August of 2008. Your Spec I disk should update, yes. You will lose any saved replays. Spec II replays can be played on Spec III, Spec I replays cannot.

I guess I already have it. Just have to play it next time I rent it. Tell me, what are the new cars in Spec 3 that were not in Spec 1?

In addition, the physics were updated, to minimize the oversteer experienced in RWD cars while running professional physics.

Another superb combo choice Kev, I hope I have a chance to run it when I get back a few days from now 👍

All the best
Maz

Nice combo, looking forward to getting stuck into this one. I really like the London track 👍

I'm sure it says spec x on the home page, at the top right maybe?
Ha thanks Kev a car that actually wants to turn :D... cool:tup:

Usually i finish the previous week before i start the next one but i could resist giving this one a go right away

First splits:

T1: 25.753
T2: 41.818

I hope I'll get my G27 back before the end of the week. I wouldn't want to miss that combo. :nervous:

What happened to your G27?

This should be rather interesting with this week having a lower power car to drive around. It's like a Go Kart on a super big track 👍

T1 - 0'26.722
T2 - 0'42.971

Also I just wanna double check with this,

Race Specifics:

All is track, just do not hit any walls.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track

Are we allowed to cut the corners? I just wanna make sure because if so then I can cut way more time off my splits. Just want to make sure just to be sure.

Yes as you have rightly pasted in above “all is track” just mind the walls, as this car can bounce a lot when mounting the curbs and it’s very easy to touch the walls here.
Phillip.

Okay I just wanted to make sure because without cutting I got my first two splits but Nuclear has his splits two seconds quicker. I'll try and see which line to take while cutting corners to get a faster time. Thanks for the quick response.

IIRC that's what Spec II did, Spec III made the cars oversteer a little more again (but still less than Spec I) and they had more grip, in order to make the game feel more real again.

Very nice combo Kevin. Very much one of those "ok, just one more lap" ones. :dopey: Your work in selecting and testing these combos is much appreciated. 👍

Anyway, I'm happy with splits from my first session. :)

T1: 25.307
T2: 40.980

I see a couple more tenths left;)

I'm using roof cam for a better idea of where the walls are.

I only know the lap times got faster after the update. It's one of the reasons we changed the F430 qualifier, it was suddenly possible to go 2 seconds faster per lap.

Oh yay. London in a Lotus :D Great fun. Should hope to have a run in the next 2 days. Not home at the moment and looking at this combo is killing me :(

A quick 10 laps, still getting used to being back inside the car.

25.952
42.342

Can't handle the in-car view here, just too many light changes and too much precision needed. So bumper cam for the first time in a while (except when forced like last week)

Seems something might be wrong with the WRSFetchBot - did he/she/it take a vacation? :)

Love the Evora 👍

The first sector is lousy, but the week is not over yet.....

25.870
41.728

In post #18 some sector times were quoted, that could give a problem for the fetchbot.

I modified the post to see if that corrects it. If the Fetchbot doesn't come back soon, I'll send a PM to Joost.

EDIT : PM sent, as I don't think that's the problem. The Fetchbot has been stuck in the week 74 official results thread for some time now.

Times like this, I have to think..'hey, atleast these sorts of bugs will be worked out by the time GT5 hits'.
