Steward Comments:

The idea for this combo comes from a series arora ran on GT4. This week, you'll complete runs and submit laps for both directions of Eiger. The only time we'll be sharing in this thread is the Reverse Direction total lap time (Splits can be discussed, but total laptime will be the leaderboard time). You will not be allowed to discuss anything related to the forward lap. No splits, no total time, and no discussion regarding strategy. :)

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your replay

Thread rules:
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • Forward Direction Laptime or Splits
  • Any information which can be used to infer Forward Direction laptime or Splits

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • Reverse Direction Laptime and/or Splits (For the Leaderboard, please provide total Laptime)
  • Any settings discussion.

Minimal number of splits: 1
Maximum number of splits: 1

Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:

You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'.
To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Page' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay' option.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 88 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

  • Please submit your time in the following format :
    [Division#]---M'SS.XXX---GTP_Tag
(Example-) [division 2]---3'29.356---GTP_Tag (Total Time = Forward Laptime + Reverse Laptime)
(Example-) [division 2]---1'44.678---GTP_Tag / Forward Lap
(Example-) [division 2]---1'44.678---GTP_Tag / Reverse Lap
  • You can submit only once
  • Please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday July 12th 11:59 pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers ,named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Wow! I usually struggle going in one direction, I'll will give it a shot though. Looks fun as usual.

Total time commitment won't be much different than a week at Fuji or Suzuka. 2 laps around Eiger is about the same as 1 lap around those tracks. 👍

I decided to keep things simple, and only do 1 car for this. It eliminates the need to test.

Another fun-looking combo!

That's a serious rule to not divulge part or all of your lap time for the forward run. What will happen if I 'accidentally' run the forward lap whilst online?

You will be dragged into the town square and tarred and feathered. ;)

Obviously, with the online leaderboard, we'll have an idea of the times that can be achieved. I really hope people can manage to stay signed out. If someone makes a mistake and ends up with a lap on the board, I won't DQ them. Unless that lap happens to be their submitted time. :mischievous:

So basically, if I set my PS so that the auto sign-in is turned off then there will be no chance of my lap appearing on the online leaderboard. 👍

(It's too warm to be tarred and feathered).

Yes Dan, thats how I have mine set, no auto sign in.

Phillip.

Very sorry mate but thats a classic, but that did realy make me laugh.

Had visions of everybody handbrake turning over the start finish line to start their other lap, then watching the timer count backwards.

Aly your a Gem. 👍

Been MIA for a while working on the new game room. It's about finished now! I love Eiger so I had to dust off the wheel! Need some more practice, based on times posted alot more practice, but good to be back!

First session much improvement needed. I guess I'm too used to drifting on Eiger

I'd call 4 tenths a major improvement. :scared:
