Providing the fireworks for the Renault Twin'Run is a fully fledged racing engine: nestling amidships is a 320hp V6 petrol engine, based on the Megane Trophy racer's. And the engine is wrapped in a latticework of a proper tubular chassis, also lifted from Renault's race team.

Mounted longitudinally ahead of the rear axle centreline, the V6 delivers peak punch of 320hp at 6,800 rpm and torque of 280lb ft at 4,850 rpm. Drive is sent through a race-spec six-speed sequential gearbox and much of the bodywork is composite to keep weight to a minimum for better performance and handling.

...Ashamed to admit, as much as a fan of fast little Renaults, I've completely forgotten about this car. Now I shall leave my "like" and go back under the rock...:embarrassed:

Why do these awesome cars never go past the concept stage? It seems a lot of manufacturers are attempting to revive interest in hot hatches and other compact sports cars, but nobody's buying. I guess the intended audience for this kind of cars simply doesn't buy cars anymore
