Replay Checking:

Well done all podium placers.... and everyone who survived the week. It was tricky one trying to keep traction.

My replay - very close in the first right hander of the esses in sector 2 but no speed drop in the data logger, no noise, no contact.

I was hoping somebody would break 7's, but I have to be happy my T3 was as good as I suspected.

Overall, I'm happy with my time, to perform at my division level in a very difficult rally event. I'm disappointed that we had a relatively poor turnout compared to the number posting splits, but I understand how that can happen.

Kevin, thanks for the great combo, it was fun. I voted Yes in the poll but ended up not submitting, because A) I was so far off the pace, I often wondered if I had the right car, and B) I wasn't completely sure any of my saved laps were clean.

Hey guys, that was really something. Thanks for the congrats, it is indeed my first win.

I really really wanted to do a 1'06 but I just couldn't put a last sector together. I have no clue whatsoever why this combo suited me. I'm not particularly good at rallying normally. Maybe it was just my sneaky "Put everything in the back, takeoff like rocket" approach to the ballast.

Congrats to all other podiums and participants and especially Chris for being very difficult to chase. Replay coming up later today.

I think things were really close in all divisions.
Me & Lefty are always close but man week 30 was to close.

Laughed so hard when my time was the same as the example time displayed in the thread.

Chris, tried my best but couldn't hook up sector 2, seemed that the tuning of a good sector 2 I lost the good low 22's in T1. Shouts to Dom for the tune, was lost in T1 until that and then baaamm, instant improvement. 👍

ASH, you must have had an awesome T3 , and Joao claims to be not good at rally

Kev, I'm wondering if it's possible to get an extension on the 7 days for the replay. I might not be able to fly back this weekend and won't be able to confirm until friday. I'd hate to loose this result

Would love to see final setups people used in their final runs, especially those in the 24's for T2. That was the trickiest section by far for me.
Lots of time in the evenings to analyze them

Cograts to all the winners and podium finishers in Divisions 1-3.

The Div. 4 guys made it easy for me this week by not submitting times.

This was a tough combo, I never could get a handle on this one.

I'm very happy with my division win this week, as at first I was running way off the pace. I didn't even have the Gold time. I had a little left in it but as it turns out, not enough to put me any higher, so I'm glad I didn't waste a couple more hours for no positional improvement.

You made an error with your submission though (small typo), your replay time is 1'09.857 i.s.o. the submitted 1'09.875. So you are even faster than we thought till now. 👍

LSD 7/10/7 8/8/30 No, not a typo

Gears standard, topspeed 240, brake balance 5/5, ABS 5

I also put all ballast in the most rearward position. The reasoning was that since most of the time is spent going up the hill I wanted as much traction as possible. More weight on the rear wheels meant more traction. Or so I imagined. It was a bit hairy coming downhill again, the back end wanted to be the front end.


Edit: Oh, and I also unplugged the wheel so that there was no feedback.

Yes, the throttle meter goes partially red when TCS is engaged. This also happens when the car shifts, but it goes full red on shift, TCS will be partial.

ASM shows up as a Triangle with an '!' in the middle of it on the HUD. Look out for that as well.

On my first run I was so slow that i thought the best I can possibly do with my DS3 is reaching the silver time (1'12).
After I found a good setup that worked for me and many hours of hitting the walls on the track I was able to be 1 second faster than the gold time (1'10).
I'm really happy with my lap time and the position I achieved this week.

This is the Setup I used:

-Installed all parts and tuning options available in the tuning shop
-Limit engine to 295bhp
-Weight: 200kg in the back of the car (weight distribution 41/59)
-Aero on max

Many thanks Thomas 👍 Yeah, I grew up with 2-stroke motor-bikes and my first ever track sessions were on a track-prepared RG500... peaky as hell and a million gear changes to keep it in the power. Never lost the habit - my brain thinks I'm going too slow if the revs aren't up. I struggle sometimes in cars with more low end torque because I'm fighting that urge to be up and down the gears all the time. Ahhh... them were't' days.

I'll check a couple of replays later.

- Nice! 👍 Virtually the whole lap in 4th, totally the opposite of my frenetic gear changing. Outstanding mate.

If anyone is interested, here's my replay with a 2nd sector of 24.250. I backed off after seeing the T2 split time because I knew the lap was dirty already from hitting the bridge and I didn't want it to be my fastest lap. Never managed to repeat that though.

My setup that ran my submitted time was just like my last full posted setup, but I think ride height was down to -10 / 10 though, I don't think it helped, I just nailed a lap on the lower height.
