Steward's Comments:
One of my favorite cars in one of my favorite combos in the history of GT. This combo is immensely enjoyable, as a TT or a live race. I've enjoyed some great LAN battles here on GT4, in this car and others.

Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1, T2 and T3 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At least two tires in contact with track at all times.
    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

I'm on vacation until next weekend, so have fun demolishing these until then. And if I don't answer your questions right away, you know why. ;)

Wow, full-service, Kev. Hope you have a fun and relaxing week, while we tear the mirrors off this thing.

BTW, the car in the pics is a Lutecia. I would like a Pink Clio to run this week's combo. My current listed fast lap (above) is in a blue car. If someone has a pink Clio they would like to gift me, it would be much appreciated. 👍 :) :D

Sweet - when I can't get anywhere near the D2 leaders in the Ferrari later today, I'll jump into this!

The standard Clio out of the OCD cannot be painted, just tried to change the colour myself.

Edit 2:
Engine, Intake and Exhaust Modifications: N/A

Confused here - this car has Stage 3 engine available but that gives it another 60+ BHP - is it allowed?

I'll run some tests and see if I can work out whether Kevin's time is with or without it.

27.823
46.166

With 60bhp more and a lot of testing, I can't see how Kev would be less than 2 tenths quicker than my first T1 split, so I'm guessing no Engine stage 3. Came pretty close to breaking the special rules at the chicane on this run, it's going to be really hard to get that part right.

Nice Combo, had only a short testrun with the posted setup in automatic shift mode. Times must be improved over the week obviously.

29.678

Way to late to start on week 66 so I took a quick look at this one, and this car is sweet. Handles pretty darn good with the stock setup

Made some tweaks and need more time, obviously, but here are the first splits. I am able to run t1 about .2 faster but always end up with a dirty chicane.

27.910
45.899

Great combo Kevin. 👍 This car is a blast to drive around here. :)

Early splits, gave up some time in T1 but best OA so far.

28.111
46.041

Edit: New splits, small improvement. Finally had a sub 27 point 9 T1, only to be just a hair dirty at the chicane. The chicane is going to be a source of a lot of frustration I think.

Sorry about that, added this to the first post.

Engine Modifications : Stage 3 Not Allowed, Verifiable by Looking at RPM Redline on replay.

Yes, I know. But the car is available in about 6 different colors/numbers in each model. There was some debate among our team as to whether or not the Lutecia is faster, so I did not allow it. The obvious difference between them is that the Lutecia comes with an open diff, the Clio has an LSD stock. I have all the colors, but not all the colors in each model.

I was asking if someone has a pink #99 Clio. If they do, could they please send (dupe) me one.

Came pretty close to breaking the special rules at the chicane on this run, it's going to be really hard to get that part right.

The chicane is going to be a source of a lot of frustration I think.

Regarding the chicane, I would rather have it be a challenge on this side of things than what we've normally faced here. Everyone gets to the end of the week and starts posting pics like the ones below to ask if they are clean, and then everyone else has to start making dive bombs through the chicane to see if they can get a lucky pass with the shoulder of their tire on the last inch of rumble strip. 👎

Under the new rule set, I expect people to still push to the edge of the limit, but that limit has changed considerably, and should not offer the same sort of advantage.

Gee Wizz there Kev I sure hope everyone in WRS who you have ever helped doesn't "give you a pink Cleo" now  I couldn't even imagine that :sly:  :)

@EDK: I'll take a look to see if I have a pink one. Ever since the car was introduced to the series, it's always been that color that I would get.

Nice combo! Can´t wait to try this one. Last week was not my best track.
Does someone maybe have a clio to gift me (PSN: GTP_n0iZe)? I don´t have one yet.

Good luck to all racers

The car is in the OCD currently. The one in mine is the #5 red-orange one and the one in my garage is blue.

But, on my other account that has the platinum and every car, I have a..... pink one in both versions.

Just remembered the one gift per console per day thing with GT5...

I sent Kev a pink Clio last night, but it wasn't a zero-miles one from the Online Dealer, it was one I'd bought a while ago from the normal used dealer. Let the deluge begin!

The one I'll use *did* come from the Online dealer, and it's black. 👍

So no need to send one. That saves me time as I wouldn't have been able to send it until tomorrow.

Cheers for the clear-up Kevin.

I welcome the rule regarding the chicane, ensuring that no luck is involved in navigating that section is a great idea and I'd welcome it at every sequence of turns that are similar 👍

Man that unpaintable pink Cleo is kind of a rare bird :dunce: I thought this egg hunt would be a simple one :banghead:

Oh really, there is one?

Non-stop UCD refreshing.:P

Better t1, lost a bunch of time in that darn chicane, that thing really knows how to kill a lap.

This combo is an absolute blast.

Yay, Monaco.

Nice ruling on the chicane Kev. Much better like that. 👍 More of a challenge to keep a fast line through there.

First session done with mostly stock setup - I tried yours Kev but I'm trying to avoid using the Max/Min ride height thing as much as possible. I hate how the car looks in the replay with its nose skyward so I don't really want to do that unless a car has hideous inherent understeer. This thing feels pretty good stock so I'm going to try and keep it level if I can. Anyway, half an hour of smashing the Armco to find the limit... Great fun. :P

22.541

*Very* clean chicane. Alot of tidying up to do, mostly in sector 2. Great combo. 👍 I used to hate Monaco but its a real buzz when you start to hook it up. :)

Edited splits - no I'm not 5 seconds faster through sector 1 :P

Yeah he's good at setups - the car feels nice to drive but to be honest James, you could thrash most people with any old set of numbers. Nice opener. 👍 I'm still sticking with my 'flat' setup for now.

27.572
45.739

Edit - switched from the stock transmission to Kevin's. Wow, huge difference. Thanks Kev. 👍

27.601
45.547

Messed up the entrance to Casino after being much faster up the hill. Quite a bit to come with this I think. Sticking with mostly stock suspension (camber 1.0/1.0, toe 0.0/0.0), LSD 5/15/5, BB 3/5 ABS 10 and Kevin's transmission, which is spot on. 👍

Latest splits,

Better T1 :). Slower T2 👎

Thru away a lot fast laps at the chicane.

Not sure if I'll end up running laps. Last time I said I would run a combo I didn't find the time to actually do it.

Not sure if I'll end up running laps....
Run some laps while you decide. :sly: Its great fun round here is this car. 👍

Thru away a lot fast laps at the chicane.
Nailing the chicane with the revised rules is alot more satisfying than previously. Easier to mess it up but feels better. :)

27.634
45.348 (Alarums!) :D

Just need to stop messing up at Casino now... and then carry it right through to the finish. Easy.
