Replay Checking:

1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example

Awesome stuff! Congrats to AX7Maverick for the overall win, and to Biffy, Benz, Al, and Sid for the division victories. Big thumbs up to all the podium winners and everyone who submitted.

Very happy with a silver, especially since this afternoon I figured I would finish 4-7th in division if I hadn't improved that time. I tried to make one last run at gold and came close a few times, but made mistakes in T3 including my very last lap where I spun the tires exiting the last corner and clipped the pit wall. Oh well, this week was tuns of fun. Great job everyone, thanks to Sjaak and all the admins for everything you do.

Great run Biffy. Congrats to all podium finishers. The esses were a killer for me. I think it was in the right hander after the T2 split. Trying to get a good time through T2, I had to practically come to a stop to negotiate the turn. Then of course, there was the pie.

Congratz to Kyle for the overall win and all the other podium finishers. The top 3 in D2 really schooled the rest of us in D2 this week so congrats to Biffy, mcfizzle and ASH. Even if I had put together my best three sectors in a single magic lap I wouldn't have made the podium.

I think if you change the number on the folder you'd have to also change the value in the PARAM.SFO file. I spent some time this week trying to figure out how to convert PAL replays to NTSC so I learned alot about the internals of the files - unfortunately, none of my attempts were successful.

I also watched your replay but was beaten to confirming it (man, I'm just slow everywhere these days ). Very nice run, I was really messing up the round-a-bout - way too timid there and was braking too much in T3. Had you not drifted some in the last corner the podium might be different but tough to tell. Great lap!

Lin's right, I don't think anyone has found a way to rename the suffix number on replays. Personally it hasn't bothered me to be overwriting exported replays in the PS3 XMB area, but it is a bit of a pain when you have multiple replays you want to verify with the same number. You have to restart GT5 for each one that has the same number.

EDIT: I'm hoping Sjaak responds to my PM soon about how we should be verifying that the Engine Stage I, II, and III upgrades are not installed on the Ferrari.

Everytime I try to do any name changing, I come up with a corrupted file. I think you would have to break Sony's and PD's code to be able to do it. Not really worth it. I have 5 ID's now and use one that I rarely use to drive with and just over write the replays to view them.

Pretty sure you can Scott.
The folder that reads something like 'BCES00569-RPL001' is what needs changing. Just change the 'RPL001' to 'RPLxxx' (eg: RPL013).
The replays you already have willl have a number assigned to them as well. As long as you don't use a duplicate number it shouldn't ask you to overwrite anything.

EDIT: give me a second, and I'll try it, then post back if it worked. 99% sure it will, but I've been wrong before

I just tried using the SFO editor that I procured to both rename the sub-directory and the name inside PARAM.SFO - still no luck on transferring that save to the PS3 without the dreaded Corrupt Data popping up.

The truth is that I have long understood that the only way I would ever be able to secure a Div 1 Gold medal would be to crack the Replay code and build a replay with the fastest possible lap time - MWUHAHAHAHAHA. * back to my evil lair*

NOTE: Please note that WRP001 and/or Hydro are going to produce pics for verifying the RPM gauge on replays.

Any replays that have been checked already should be rechecked after the pics have been published. We trust the members, but since the disallowing of Engine Stages is fairly new to the WRS rules, we need to publish what reviewers should be looking for.

 

[WRP001]

OK, here are the screen grabs with the various engine upgrades. You are looking for the red line on the RPM gauge starting at just over 9000 RPM.

Stage 2 and 3 are very obvious with just a glance as the red line starts after the 9250 marker. You have to look a little closer to detect Stage 1 vs Stock.

Stock you will see just a little black space between the 9000 tick mark and the start of the red line. Stage 1 the red line start almost all the way to the point of the next small marker (9250). These pictures are screen grabs and it'll be more clear when viewing the replay in GT5.
