Steward's Comments:
A fun little combo to get your feet wet with the new tuning physics. In line with needing to learn how to tune again, and due to the late event start, we are extending the deadline to October 8th.

Viewing your T1 and T2 Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'

pb060041mt3.jpg

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if all four tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track. Concrete sections bordering the Rumbles are not track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 85 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-)

    Time: 1'10.100

  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"

  • If multiple times are submitted, only the last submission will be counted.
  • Please include in your submission PM your final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday, October 8th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

I'm-a-gonna like this! :D

Hmmm... looks like Chris is working on a tune already, in the wee hours of the night/morning.

EDIT:

26.339
30.853

Since this one is going to last a while, I might try to tune by myself for the first few days, just to see what happens...

I am trying my own tune for now. What a fun car!!!! First results from 50 + laps, car is still under powered.
Bob is driving it tonight!

Might give this one a go at the weekend, seems like I might be in with a chance of a podium based on the lack of Div. 1 presence in the last few event. 👍

Ran 10 laps with Ryders Tune(a shot in the dark) 387 hp, first splits. Hi Al.

Good to see you back on track, we need the competition in div 4 ;)

I´m to blind to find the possibility to buy the car, where is it ?

New car dealers, you will find the make 'Autobacs' somewhere in the back...
There it should be listed.

Edit: sorry for the double post.

@Racingworld, thank you. Thought its alphabetically, so was looking only in front part.
Good start so far

Short testrun with only full aerodynamics, no further setting so far.
Cool Car !

Had a quick run, played around with the suspension a bit and gear ratios, I was running at 339hp so some tweaking to do later when I get to full power.

T1 25.739
T2 30.851

Will be interesting to see how the update affects the wing settings of peoples tunes, as I've usually found max gives the best lap times.

Edit

T1 25.781
T2 30.649

Still at 339 hp

Woohoo, new combo!

Another quiet morning so had a good blast to try and thrash out a decent setup... this thing has so much grip is difficult to feel small changes but I'm fairly happy with it so far. It rides the curbs pretty well...

Max downforce - at a twisty circuit like this, any gain in top speed will be more than cancelled out through the technical bits.

Suspension
-15/10
18.0/16.0
9/7
7/5
7/5
2.0/1.0
0.00/0.00

LSD
8/12/5

Transmission
Set Max speed to minimum
Set Final to 3256
Then set ratios:
3499
2656
2122
1770
1523
1342

Brakes
7/7 ABS 10

First splits with above setup (car at 343bhp so far):
25.338
30.362

Not sure how much is left... Car still needs to reach full power and I made a bit of a mess of the roundabout in sector 2. Fun combo, Kevin and a nice start to the updated settings. 👍

Alli, which event do you get your bob to run the car in on ?

Nic

Indy 500 is the fastest one to get Bob to break in your car. Don't quote me (I just let him finish the race over night) but I think he only needs half the 500 miles to break the car in. Do not stop the race while he is in the pits, for some reason that will not give you credit for miles already raced.

Al

Has anyone else messed with the ride height yet? I only ran a few laps but when I adjusted the height it still seemed like the car turned better with the front in the air.

Not a huge fan of this track previously, but it's growing on me :). Always liked this car and used it for quite a few a-spec races while profiling.
Nice T1 Chris out of the gate, I haven't got a sniff on that time yet:bowdown:
Using almost the same suspension, but with different gears and 6/5 BB and 4 ABS. Which is just driver preference. But your right, this car has a tonne of grip and rides the curb well. Looking forward to this one, as for the first time in a while, I have the time to put together consistent medium sessions. Good luck all !

Another run, slightly faster but not as much as I expected with 8 more hp:

T1 25.580
T2 30.469

I felt I could push the car harder at lower hp - maybe I just need to learn to tune lol.

Getting a few laps in for the first time in a while... I've got class today but I'm hoping to get at least a few hours on this one since we've got such a far-away deadline. Stock tune, 341hp.

T1: 27.463
T1: 32.396

Going to try Vag's tune and then I'll let Bob run the car in while I'm in the bio lab today...

Tuned but not broken in...

T1: 26.630
T2: 32.321

A bit of sliding going on with those splits, but it's been a couple of months since I've ran a good TT, so I'm getting back into it.... slowly.

Tried every combination of ride height setting and to be honest, in this car, I can hardly feel any difference at all... its quite odd. My testing yesterday I did in a Nissan Silvia on S1s and it felt best with min front and slightly raised rear. Anyway, my quickest laps are still with the nose lowered although I'm still playing with rear height.
Nice T1 Chris out of the gate, I haven't got a sniff on that time yet
Thanks Eddie. I had fun here back in Week 13:

New splits, car still at 343bhp:

Hey guys! Been a long time since I last ran a WRS, week 53 was my last I believe! Anyway this was too good to turn down. Autumn Ring is favourtie track of mine and the car is really nice so a great combo:tup:

25.724
30.692

Ran the stock setup with the exception off max downforce. Also need to be much more agressive in sector 1 and cut more of the corners.

A little better time. tough track, hate the chicanes

...impossible splits, and a sweet tune...

Chris, great tune, and it don't look prissy (with it's nose in the air). 👍

I think you forgot something, though...

...remember to THRASH IT MERCILESSLY!

Great combo, Kev, this one has me searching for tenths everywhere.

Kev gave some good MR-car advice back when we ran the Elise here..."never let off the gas...". Applies mega here.

EDIT: max HP is 352 for me.

Thanks Ali.

You don't have to run the whole race, just quit at lap 75 or lap 80, don't go to the pits, just quit from the race and you'll have your 300kms

finally figuring out T1, but I don't see alot more in this for me. I see a good D2 battle coming though 👍
