Nice job everyone!

Important notices:
To streamline the WRS administration process, all required replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Provisional" and will become "Official" once all posted replays have been verified. After 7 days, all drivers who fail to provide a requested replay will have their lap disqualified. (Beware: disqualification isn't taken lightly within the WRS.)
Drivers who do not have a submitted lap posted in the results are not to post any information related to a laptime they might have achieved in the results thread. Any such posts will have the times removed.

Replay Verification Requests:
This week we would like to see replays for all indicated results. All replays are to be posted here.

Instructions on how to upload your replay can be found here - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3180607&postcount=2

Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Wow. Congrats to Chris - commanding win, beautiful lap!

Congratulations also to all the other podiums. Amazing battle in D2 - great win, Matt, well deserved. Pushed by Mohit and Baron blazing up the order! Well fought in Div 3 also. Hell of a push by Mitch, inspiring stuff.

Thanks to Vaxen for the results, and to Kev for the challenging combo.

Here's the tale of T3:

Can't remember when I've been so pleased at 7th :dopey: - my PAL replay is attached. Finding missing tenths (mostly T1 and 2) would have taken a loooong time, since finding the .3s in the corkscrew was so rare for me; bit of a test of faith, there.

Well congratulations everyone fun combo. Sorry Ren I posted my last splits right before the dead line, and the board didnt catch them in time. My T4 was not that fast. I wish.:)

Congratz to all and sweet lap Chris. Kevin, thanks for a very fun combo.

D2 had quite the battle with less than a tenth separating 2nd thru 6th in the division. :boggled:

I'll post my replay a little later (it's been a while since I've had to do that!).

Congrats on the great week Chris. First your promotion, now a dominating win.

Matt, nice win and happy b-day.

Very surprised to make the podium, and glad to see my handicap survived the ordeal.

I'll try to get my replay up tomorrow.

Whoops, updated :embarrassed:

I think it was faster than the split you posted, though... :sly:

Congrats to Chris and all the winners this week, Congrats to all that participated. I felt that this week was my hardest win given that my best splits gave me a 1'19.597 a massive half a second faster than the time I submitted, so i was a bit nervous submitting this week as I thought for sure my lap was a positive par. My PB individual splits

20.458
18.920
16.555
23.640

Still happy with my win but bummed I couldn't put all the best splits in one lap.

My PAL Replay: Once again any tips are welcome especially from D1 D2 folks :)

Bummer I could never figure out the first sector this week. I see from Chris' video that I probably shouldn't have been shifting down to first for turn 1. But my biggest problem was turn 2 where I just couldn't get dialed in at all. Just pushed and pushed and could never get on the gas.

My NTSC replay (first time it's been required since week 60!):

Sweet! 👍👍👍👍

Wow, I've waited a long time for a win - not since Week 29 infact! Back then I was in D2S and still using the DS3, so this is a bit of a milestone because it's my first win using a wheel.

It's also my birthday today, so that's kinda cool as well - anybody won on their birthday before!? :dopey:

Thanks Kevin for concocting such a great combo, really was a fine balance between going quick...and going slow, just a few mph too much here or there and one turned to the other.

I knew that I bottled T4 a little after seeing by far the quickest split time I'd had, but thankfully it wasn't by too much. The first left after the corkscrew was tentative but I made up for it with a decent right turn, but then turned too late for the last corner and missed the position I wanted by a couple of feet. Got reasonable traction but didn't quite make 136 at the line so lost a little.

Quickest T1 was .335 and T4 (known) best was a .438 - The 2nd and 3rd sectors from my submitted lap were personal bests and I wouldn't have repeated that, so a quicker time was theoretical but not really achievable. I was lucky this week and got close to extracting the most I could - my best 3 overall times would have placed me 1st, 1st and 5th - so I feel pretty fortunate to have strung it together across what must have been around 150 total laps of the track.

Anyway, replay attached - Congrats on a dominant performance Chris - not sure many (if any) others would have mounted a challenge to beat that! Congrats on a great T4 too Baron, nice leap onto the podium from down the road ;) Great close finish in D3 too.

Matt

Congratulations, Matt! You deserve that win on your B-day. 👍

Congratulations to everyone and especially to Chris for his amazing lap. 1.18.xxx I was like what? :) Couldn't even get under 1'20.5xx. T4 was rubbish as well, didn't expect that.
Congrats also to Matt and happy birthday.
This combo was very fun for the first few days, until frustration started to kick in :yuck:
Thanks again for the good tune Chris.

Thanks again for the good tune Chris.

If you do the race try my tune, I found the car turns in better than when I used Chris' tune

Congrats Matt and Happy Birthday. Congrats to everyone else also on your amazing runs. It is a true honor to be able to compete with GTP's best. Enjoying each and every week.

Mitch

Congrats to Chris and Matt - Happy Birthday mate!

Didn't get any track time after Thursday and with my pedals playing up its just too difficult to compete. Hence no submission from me this week, but I'll get some contact cleaner and try again this week. You're all so fast though

Firstly, congratulations and a Happy Birthday to Matt! Great last minute dash to the line mate and a well deserved (and slightly overdue) D2 win. 👍

Thanks for the slaps on the back guys - I'm also extremely happy with the win (my 5th now :D). A nice result for my first as a D1 Silver driver although I am slightly surprised at the gap and even more surprised at the sub-par handicap! The more so because its Laguna Seca and, as I said at the beginning of the week, this track has never been kind to me in the past. This now ranks as my best handicap result.... Blame the car for this result then - I loved it, thank you Kevin. 👍

Further congratulations and kudos to the protagonists in D2 - great close race going on at the top there this week. 👍 A big shout out for Mitch for his super-human effort to take the D4 win and top the handicap results this week 👍 (just pipping me at the top there too mate :sly:) Not forgetting everyone who got a podium, beat their handicap, and of course everyone who took part in another tricky week. We all make WRS what it is, so everyone is important here ;)

Thanks again for the mentions guys, what a great week. I'm reposting the pic of my car, which I think is also a nice shot of the track:

And finally, my replay:

Congrats to all podium finishes!! I could have done better on this one, half a second at least, but well...
I hope my battered pride can keep taking punches, because I will continue participating no matter how!

Congratulations to all winners. 👍

Her my PAL replay.

Nice lap mate on what is a perfect lap and congrats again on D1 Silver, not long till your gold 👍 I just couldn't get the car to turn with your tune I don't know why when it seems so effortless with you. I had a similar line to yours so Im not doing all that long, the only thing is probably I should have carried more speed into the corners, but then again this is not my fav track, very challenging.

Forgot to thank Kev for the combo, this are the kind of challenges I need to improve, a nice hard car in a hard track.

Great combo guys, was a lot of fun!

Awesome job with that time Chris. I'd check the mirror if I were you, probably are growing some alien parts :sly:.

Great win Matt and happy birthday !

2 - 6 positions in D2 separated just by a tenth, goes to show the level of competition here and I'm happy to be a part of it.

Congrats to all the other winners and podium finishers!

Congrats on your win Chris! Your lap was sick! Thanks for the video, love the # on your car too!!!!

Congrats to all the other podium winners! Mamba, 2 D3 wins in a row! It will be hard to topple you off your podium this week! WTG Daniel, 2 podiums in the last three weeks! I am enjoying the D3 rivalry, I think we will have a Rat amongst us soon if he keeps that up!

Dissapointed I am not submitting a replay for the second week in a row, but I am on a mission now!

Cheers Al, you can call me Manu as well. I hope I can keep up the pace, there so much competition in D3 its hard to win here, + Litchi is here so D3 is going to be hard to win :sly: , for this week I spent quite some time trying to catch Aspecbobs splits he had a great T1-T3, too bad his T4 let him down quite badly.

I am enjoying the D3 rivalry

I completely agree, D3 rivalry is pretty awesome, seems like you have to be on top of your game, Im always worried that Lefty will pop up with a last min lap time and steal a podium :sly:.

I think we will have a Rat amongst us soon if he keeps that up

Yes for sure, I'm surprised he isn't already D3 I know its gonna be sooner rather than later

Here's my replay as requested. Congrats to everybody.

Congratz to the all podiums and specially to Chirs for his dominant overall win 👍

Some tight finishes indeed. Although i'm not completely satisfied with my lap time, i can't complain. Not a podium for me but it turned out to be a positive handicap result, something i never expected.

Thanks everybody for the headache you guys cost me  Kev for the combo and the D2 guys and girl for the competition

EDIT:

Here is my PAL replay

Nice lap Chris :tup as usual

Manu, try to use the widnes of the track more. You use it on the exit but you can cut the apex closer. Nice and smooth lap. We will hear more from you. I guaranty you 👍

Tried Millross replay but was corrupted. Portably my bad, gonna try it again

Problem solved, forgot to copy the files in the folder. Stupid me

Pretty awful lap, slow, missed all the apexes - not sure why you submitted it tbh.... 💡

Definitely not the lap of someone who just jumped out of D3 to D2 fairly recently. Nice and smooth. Little tentative on a couple of turns, but only very fractional. Middle section of the lap was v.good

A little tentative in turn 1 and sector 4 all of a sudden got a tiny bit ragged - very narrow on the left turn after the corkscrew which made you slow right up, then the last right hander you chucked it in and lost a little momentum and a little cautious on the final turn. With this car being a tricky one to handle I can fully understand that though - particularly if a great split time popped up at T3 :) Impressive lap overall and a good victory.

Thanks for the tips, I was ahead of my ghost at that point and didn't want to throw the lap away at that point. I just wanted to keep what I had. For the right turn right after cork screw I tried a wide entry but was always running out of the track and my ghost was always getting ahead of me. So I chose narrower. I should have probably dabbed the brakes like Chris did and maybe I would have been faster.

Nice lap Mitch. 👍

Overall, you had very good lines and could have even taken advantage of them more as you had extra room on exit a few times (turn 1, turn after corkskrew) meaning you could have gotten on the throttle even a bit sooner. A few turns you were a touch wide of the apex (first right in sector 2, penultimate right turn) which cost a few moments before getting in the gas. Real nice run threw the Corkskrew. The last turn was a bit ragged, but you probably noticed your great splits and were getting tight trying to bring it home... didn't hurt your exit speed too much though as you crossed the line at about 134 mph. Maybe just a tenth or so getting the car settled.

I noticed a few turns you really muscled the car on entry with a little lockup/slide (this is a muscle car after all :sly:). I found the little slide on entry would hurt my times a bit versus the smoother approach displayed by Vagabond, but I couldn't always avoid that without slowing too much so it was tough walking that tightrope (for us non aliens). Not sure exactly what the secret was to avoid that... probably just a slightly slower entry speed or shallower turn in angle... maybe the faster guys can shed some light.

PS> If you are interested, I can post a video capture of your lap.
