Replay Checking:

1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications

couttsy21: Interesting line through the first turn (single late apex), lots of steering, throttle, and brake inputs. It reminds me footage from real racing on the edge. Great turn at the foot of the hill in s2. You lost some time to CargoRatt in the last turn (the real turn, not the kink in the final straight).

GTP_CargoRatt: Holy smoke show! This is the first time I'm seeing a replay from you. Really wild driving style. It looks like all the slipping and sliding must slow you down but the timer tells a different story. One stunt that really stands out is the turn under the hill in s2. There was almost no braking. You used the outside curb to get the car to slide and kept the speed up through the turn. I think you gained over .3 in just that one turn and another .2 in the final turn.

The_Boss69: Too bad you didn't have more time to run it. You left some time in the first sector as you struggled to put the power down. The lines were great and you absolutely nailed the final sector (that sector time is comparable to top D2)

vida_cz: Very nice lap, smooth inputs, good lines. Nothing really stands out other than great nerves to nail the final corner on fast lap.

And finally my friend and nemesis in one - Combinho: What the hell are you doing in D3 man? They'll be happy when they get rid off you Please load my lap into data logger (someone needs to check my replay anyway) to see for yourself.
I went little quicker through the bus stop in s1 by getting better entry angle. You killed me in the turn under the hill (full two tenths), I got one of those back in the loop and the rest in s3 chicane.
We were dead even in the straight leading to the final turn (again, I mean the real turn, not the final straight kink). And by dead even I mean +0.000 through that whole straight. If you told me something like that was possible I would say no way.
And then I lost it all in that final turn, but that doesn't mean you didn't deserve it. Great driving is not all about skill, it's also about being able to control your nerves.

Well, sort of. I uploaded the 3 flags to be hosted here at GTP instead of imageshack, so the flags will be visible here, but Fetchy still needs to be told the new URL's in order to recognize the green's. Until that happens, I'll keep the LB in sync manually.

Congrats @Doodle on the win, and very fast lap. Also @PASM for second and a really nice looking lap.

Happy to have a spot on the podium, never really thought I'd be fast enough to sneak an occasional podium in, so that's pretty cool. It's odd though how there's still disappointment in not finishing even better. Guess I'll just keep working.

Happy with my time as I got only 2 tenths behind the leader in D2 but I am left a little bitter cause it's only a 6th place! Great competition in D2, really stacked!

Yeah I realised after this lap that, that probably wasn't the fastest way through the first turn but I found it easier this way to get set up for the next few corners. I adjusted my line for it and managed a good few .5xx first sectors but didn't have the time to string it together with a decent 2nd & 3rd. Overall happy with my time and negative handicap so seem to be heading in the right direction! Oh and congrats on your promotion to D2. Really fun combo again even if she was a slippery beast!

Wonderful write up, would read again..

I believe @MisterWeary started adding commentary to replays. It feels good to get a pat on the back for a lap or section you did well and pointers from more experienced drivers.
I picked results that are somewhat close to my time to make it easier to point out differences.
I have another idea for commenting on much faster replays where I don't feel qualified to point anything out.
If nobody checks D1 by tonight I'll do it.

I went little quicker through the bus stop in s1 by getting better entry angle. You killed me in the turn under the hill (full two tenths), I got one of those back in the loop and the rest in s3 chicane.
We were dead even in the straight leading to the final turn (again, I mean the real turn, not the final straight kink). And by dead even I mean +0.000 through that whole straight. If you told me something like that was possible I would say no way.
And then I lost it all in that final turn, but that doesn't mean you didn't deserve it. Great driving is not all about skill, it's also about being able to control your nerves.

couttsy21: Interesting line through the first turn (single late apex), lots of steering, throttle, and brake inputs. It reminds me footage from real racing on the edge. Great turn at the foot of the hill in s2. You lost some time to CargoRatt in the last turn (the real turn, not the kink in the final straight).

GTP_CargoRatt: Holy smoke show! This is the first time I'm seeing a replay from you. Really wild driving style. It looks like all the slipping and sliding must slow you down but the timer tells a different story. One stunt that really stands out is the turn under the hill in s2. There was almost no braking. You used the outside curb to get the car to slide and kept the speed up through the turn. I think you gained over .3 in just that one turn and another .2 in the final turn.

great commentary.. for me it's superb result.. top 20 is a dream :-) i lost some time in t1 maybe 2 tenths.
the final corner was breathtaking for me and it was very close to disaster :-)
i love this car and looking forward to tommorow.. i'm curious how long i'll drive without crash ;-)

Well, I'm happy to see I found all the time in T3 (not that I quite got it, but found at least) but pretty disappointed overall, I was just on the tip of cracking 13's on Sunday and Monday but just couldn't get there in time.

Awesome times up top from Doodle and Pasm, and a great combo to thrash around, couldn't have had a more enjoyable first week back.

Now I'm off to hopefully see 2 yellow names turn blue in the other thread.

Welcome to the main event of the WRS time trial at the beautiful Autumn ring. We have two of the fastest drivers on the (GT) planet at the starting line driving identical, race version of the Renault Megane. This short but technical track will test their skills and very different driving styles. Who will be quicker?

PASM has slightly faster start and opens up a few thousandths of a second lead before the turn one. He dives towards the apex while Doodle locks up all four wheels in a controlled slide.
The smooth driving style seems to be paying off as PASM gets better exit and sets up nicely for the turn two. Another big slide by Doodle and tighter line through the bus stop chicane brings him closer to his rival but PASM sets up wider for the next turn and with much higher exit speed he opens up a full 0.1 lead in the first sector.

Doodle won't give up on his wild driving style as he slides the car towards the apex of the next turn. While it's very exciting to watch he loses even more time as they both struggle to put the power down going over the small hill.

PASM with 0.150 lead takes the next turn on a perfect line, slight wobble as he fights for traction on the exit but he shouldn't have a problem to keep Doodle behind him. Doodle runs wide on the entry and makes a mistake of hitting the brakes with two wheels on the rumble strip. This will sure send the car into a spin.

Wow, he somehow managed to keep the car under control and pointed right at the apex! Hi didn't just do that on purpose, did he? With the car facing in the right direction he is able to put the power down well before the apex and starts accelerating up the hill. With much higher exit speed he catches PASM before the all important loop turn!

PASM takes very tight line through the loop keeping to the inside, Doodle blows right by him going very deep into the corner. PASM hits the apex on the exit perfectly but Doodle coming back from the outside edge is able to put the power down much sooner, doesn't even care about getting close to the second apex and takes the lead!

With faster entry speed Doodle sends the car flying by cutting across the next chicane curb and needs to do a small brake check to bring the car back down to all four wheels. PASM is smoother through this section but finds himself down by full two tenths before the final turn.
He runs slightly tighter line for better exit speed and start catching up to his opponent.

In the end he runs out of road as Doodle crosses the finish line in first with twelve hundredths of a second advantage.

What a race!

Nail: The lines are right up there with the best. Pretty smooth on the throttle and steering inputs. All you need to do is to push a bit more, brake less, try to carry more speed through the corners. The only missed apex was the turn under the hill in s2. Unfortunatelly that was probably the most important turn besides the loop.

Edit: Weird, fetchy picked up the bottom one from both my posts but not the first one.
