Steward's Comments:
Back to a race car this week, but with lots of grip. The 24 hours of Nurburgring are next weekend, this tribute is intended to get you in the spirit of it all.

UPDATE 19 June 2014: Due to the physics update in 1.09 making all cars slower, the car has been changed to the BRZ GT300 Base Model '12 from your Garage, and Aero and Brake Balance are tunable. All times from 1.08 have been cleared from the leaderboard.

Viewing your T1-T9 Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your T1 & T2 Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual T2 split time, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:
  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • The first 9 splits: T1-T9 times
  • Any settings discussion

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 22 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the body of "remove entry".
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • See this screenshot as an example on how to submit:

  • The deadline is Monday, June 23rd 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

This is a dream come true: My kind of car, my favorite track in the game, can't wait to get started 👍

Had a couple of laps last night. It's a feisty little thing and certainly doesn't seem to like curbs too much!

Wow. this will take serious commitment, can see a huge difference in times here, unlike this week where it's gonna be pretty close between first and last. Looking forward to it all :gtpflag:

A question of making things easier, can we post only 3 splits like t1, t4 and t9 for example? Just because it's very much to post :P

@Bertracer - See wks 54, 76, 94 and 128 in the GT5 WRS for the spread of results that can be expected. You might want a coffee before you hit the track

Then Joost would have to change the LB for just one event!

Much better to just post up the splits.... It's always worked like this at the ring.

No, sorry. Fetchy will only pick up and post splits if you use the correct number.

Thought I'd get the ball rolling.. as it is probably the only chance I'll get to not only be top of the LB.. but have a few purple splits too.. I don't expect my moment of glory to last long.. as most of you are much better than me..

Ollie, thanks a lot. Your preliminary splits helped already to see the huge amount of work I have to do if I want to continue participating.

Oh my... This one scares me!

I do have the AUEC 12hrs of Nurburgring next month so I guess this will make good practice. Still though, I'm quivering at the thought of TTing the ring :nervous:

Don't do what I did to start off.. forgot to change the tyres.. get far better grip with R/M than the stock R/H

First splits;

22.717
50.267
1:19.567
1:40.567
2:24.517
2:58.867
3:27.683
4:17.250
4:56.500

Think I started off ok but I haven't put much time into the ring at all since GT5... I seem to have holes in my memory :P

This will be a crazy week!

Edit; dang, my phone browser doesn't let me see all the splits. Looks like my computer might actually get some use this week!

Yes I did it also  Man, only one thing to change ... Still sleepy after LeMans couch marathon

When i first read the track and car, i just felt like in heaven. After reading a second time i noticed, that it is the 24h track and the BRZ Race car.
I ran miles on the Nordschleife with the stock BRZ car and came around in slightly above 8 minutes.

This car here seems a little different, and i have to learn the GP track as well...

Good luck guys

Most of what I have learned of time trialing is suddenly moot. Will have a go tonight.

e: Hey, I can use my own car that I just bought and didnt change oil on? For the purpose of distance monitoring.

Almost 7 seconds at the line. Still though, I nearly spun coming out of the 'klein karussell' ...couple of other mistakes too. Getting the hang of it though.
