Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Congrats on the win @Doodle, I'm sure you were on the edge of your seat:lol:. Didn't realize there was quite that much time left in t3.

Happy with my lap, nice sized neg. handicap. It's pretty neat to be competing against guys like @Mr P, that I've been marveling at since I joined WRS five years ago.

25 submissions on the week between Christmas and New Years, on a two year old game! That's not shabby at all.👍

Congrats to the winners!

I'm pleasantly surprised I finished with a negative handicap.:)

Hopefully I can get some time to check a few replays tomorrow. I'm starting to feel bad because I usually don't have much time during the week to do gaming so I don't feel like I'm doing my share of checking.:guilty:

Congrats to Doodle on the overall win, and to the other divisions and podiums. 👍

Nice to see such a great turnout, but wow, we are a little D2 heavy this week. :odd:

I am going to work on some replay checks now, will start in D2, although I think Ron/ @Mr P said his would need some close scrutiny, so I will probably provide that.

Without me being able to see any sign of not having two wheels on the rumble strip.

Second opinions welcome :cheers::confused::cheers:

Great division win. :)

I guess you found the engine brake, good thing you don't have to pay for the rebuilds on that thing. :ouch:

Interesting technique with pumping the throttle, I know this one is hard on your guys using the controller. I thought you had a wheel at some point, is that not the case?

Nice save at the end of the loop, almost lost your lap there. 👍

Also interesting to see how little of the curbs you use in sector 2. And, how much of the revs you used on the car in general, I was generally shifting 200 RPM short of redline, up to redline, not past.

Nice, smooth lap. 👍

You managed to make the awkward upshift/downshift thing I was trying early in the week work through the first sector. It obviously worked for you, the first sector is where I lost the most to you.

Second gear in the next to last turn probably cost you a couple of tenths, holding 3rd there is one of the things I figured out when my final sector suddenly got MUCH faster.

Well done on winning the division. 👍 And back to back wins, no less.

A little bit slow to get on the throttle at turn 1. You get so used to the car stepping out that you don't realize you can get back on quickly there at low RPM and gain some time. You seem to just hold half throttle and then mash it when you straighten the wheel, but progressive feed in as you are unwinding lock would work better. Good line there, a little late on the throttle.

I think using second gear for most of T1 also cost you some time. I used 3rd almost exclusively, while I saw some different techniques in the first couple replays I watched. But without 3rd gear, you lose some critical momentum and it costs you time.

First right of T2, see comments on turn 1, same thing here.

Your line in the last box chicane, first turns of T3, is not optimal. You grab too much curb on the first apex, and miss the second apex of the entry. You really want to hit that second apex and rotate the car for exit in one motion. It leaves you late getting back on the throttle for the exit turn.

For the second to last turn, you needed to get up on the entry rumble to optimize your line. You miss the apex as a result, and compromise mid corner speed. And also slide out a bit as a result.

Welcome to the WRS, Autumn Ring is a great place to start. :)

You have some opportunity with line and apexes. Your car control looks good, I can see you are using TCS. If you are using a wheel, learn to drive without it.

You use too much of the turn 1 rumble, which compromises your turn 2 line, and slows you down. You actually should not use the rumble here at all. It will let you set up wider for the next left and carry more speed.

For the second half of the first chicane, you need to hit the first left rumble much more aggressively for the optimum line. It will set you up wide for the critical exit while carrying speed.

You wait too late to brake for the first right in T2, causing you to take an awkward, late apex line. Brake sooner, turn in sooner, apex sooner.

You miss the apex completely on the next left, get to it and you can carry much more speed down the hill.

For the loop, I would suggest taking it in deeper and taking more of an apex approach to the turn, rather than driving it like a freeway exit. It will let you get back on full throttle sooner.

Last sector, you can carry a lot more speed and take a more aggressive entry to the final chicane, And missing apexes costs you some time again. You actually lift for that final left kink, and you don't have to lift if you get the line right. Watch some faster replays to see what guys are doing there. 👍

Unlike Anastasis, it looks like you think you have to pay the bills if you damage this machine. Your turn 1 line and start of first sector look pretty good, but you are late getting back on throttle most places, especially the final exit turn of T1.

I also think 1st gear in the 2 tight turns costs you some time, I tried it some for turn 1, and it seemed slower to me, compared to my ghost.

Bite more curb for the right hand entrance to the first chicae, it will set you up with a wider line and more speed for the next left.

You completely miss the apex for the first right in T2, brake sooner, turn sooner.

I like your line in the loop, aggressive. 👍

Same comments as for Rich above in the first chicane of final sector, you need to take more of the left entry curb, less of the second, land sooner, get back on throttle for exit sooner, hit that last right apex. 3rd gear for next to last right sweeper is better, 2nd slows you down. Same comments with no lift needed for the last left kink.

Nice lap, just some better lines and more aggression would pay off. 👍

@Mr P Yeah, that turn 3 is a little closer than I'd like to have to check, but I was able to pause at the furthest off point and you have a sliver of tire over the rumble.

Thank You @EDK for the in depth analysis

Once again the last sector bit me, I knew i was doing something wrong in that last sector. Lesson learned and i just ran a few more laps just for fun and im a lot faster now in that last sector. Thanks 👍

Thanks EDK!

I didn't even think about 3rd in the first turn. I was really focused on keeping it clean and sacrificing some minimum speed/exit speed to ensure a better entry into the chicane section. I'll do a few runs later on trying out third through this section, it's different from my usual approach.

This particular lap, the exit of the first right in S2 wasn't particularly good. Better laps I was on throttle earlier, with more exit speed.

Sector 3 on this lap was awful. You're right, treating the first section as a fluid motion will probably lead to a quicker, smoother time. The 2nd to last turn was flubbed on this particular occasion.

If I spent some more time I probably could have had 4-5 tenths. Surely more with your tips! See you in the next one!

Thanks, you and @Ph1sher weren't far from it 👍 I really hope when I learn to drive a real car I won't be driving like this!
I was using a wheel on my old xbox for the first forza game :dopey:, but I don't remember myself not pumping the throttle really. Actually that little use of the curbes was not intended, especially for the first corner of sector 2, I went way to wide there :banghead:. As for the revs, I never tried to find out where the optical shifting point was, I was shifting after just seeing the redline, also because I was not using any sound at all :P Thanks for the feedback!

Not the first turn, but the first sector. For example, I was shifting up to 3rd between turns 1 and 2, and leaving it there all the way until the first right of sector 2.

Some other drivers were changing down to second coming out of the various turns at lower speeds and blipping back up to 3rd. The main thing is that entering the turns in second gear will slow your momentum when you lift for the turns, and the car is a bit tougher to control and put the throttle down in second gear.

Thanks, you and @Ph1sher weren't far from it 👍
Yeah, 0.057 across the D2 podium, that's close! At least we managed to kick you uphill into D1. :P

I am happy with my D1 handicap and the podium, will take that anytime.

Thanks. 👍

I was not able to grab a couple of them last night due to duplicate naming, I worked the list from top down and could not get the last 2, thanks for getting those and mine.

For whatever reason, Fetchy has now decided that everyone BUT me get's the go ahead, based on your post. :odd:

Let's give it a bit and maybe you can give me another green flag. :P

EDIT: Tree'd by @Eggstor Don't try telling me you are not fast. ;)

EDK
Thanks. 👍

...

Don't try telling me you are not fast. ;)

Looks like the issue was the lack of a space between the name and the flag.

As for speed, I'm a faster typist than a driver. You had me dusted by turn 2.

I think the first issue is that the PSN ID's were in Bold. I tired fixing that this morning by editing the posts, but I also removed the space at the same time. Very particular, that Fetchy. ;)

I seem to get along a bit better with the quirky 512BB than some of you guys, I'm sure you'll be back on form this week.

Congrats to all other division podiums and all who hit their goal 👍

Thanks for the efforts by 8l23ub and Kevin to verify my lap 👍 Sorry about the close call but i did scrutinize it thoroughly first and found it was super close but hanging on by a thread and took the risk due to no other save to offer :( not normally something I like to do... Thankfully it's all good :)

Thanks again guys ;)
