  • Cones are not to be touched.
  • The inside of the white line is the track boundary, as detailed below.
  • Breaking boundary rules on the final corner of the lap prior to your best lap is strictly forbidden. We will make cursory checks of Start/Finish line speed on all replays, and will disqualify outliers.

It's been a long time, last time we were here, DinoSOWr's were roaming the planet. Yes, it's been *that* long. 4WD this time, but don't let that comfort ya. :P

Viewing your T1 & T2 Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your T1 & T2 Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual split times, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty

Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 121 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.

Why Use GMT?:


GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

I have an interesting life question. Why is it that in the race world when the word comfort is used, it never feels comfortable? I always end with brownspots in my underwear because I dont know if I'll make the corner or crash and throw away a near perfect lap.
 
As a side note the images for legal track usage aren't loading for me.

Nice combo, teaches trail braking and patience with the throttle.

BB 1/3, seems to like shifting at 7,200 RPM. I short shifted to 7k, was much quicker than 8k or redline, and then was faster on the straights with 7,200. Would say anything between 7 and 7,500 is likely good, a few places to short shift for control. Not using 1st or 5th gear.

Turbo lag is really starting to annoy me, I'm know I should shift early but it's unsatisfactory

Shift point matters quite a bit, I mentioned it in my post.

In the second sector, you have to give up some full throttle and do some short shifting to optimize line, while giving up a bit on being flat out. It's a constant compromise. Difficult to just describe, but the right line is the most important thing, do what you need to with throttle and shifting to stay on the line.
 
I'm sorry, but I don't really know where is the limit for the last corner: The cones (logical to me) or the weird circle white line that was probably made for another layout? Because technically if I were to follow :
  • Rumbles and tarmac between the white lines are legal track. No other surfaces are track.
I would have to avoid that weird white line. Sorry, I'm a special snowflake that needs lots of details. A bad snowflake, that is.

In general, I would say cones. It does not align with the below bullet, but that's to establish track edge transition from tarmac to dirt. I have a hard time believing that you could run faster by getting right up against those cones there, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure because that gives me a better run down the straight to start the lap, and I didn't want to get disqualified because of something dumb like that, if I submit.... I can do T1 just fine (16.8xx), but my T2 is horrible, my PB so far is only a .6. I tried going slower for the lines but I keep going slower and slower lol. Fun combo nonetheless, I like the drifting aspect of this car :P (or maybe that's what I'm doing wrong :(). BTW, the exit of the pit lane tarmac can be used for turn 1 right?

Well, we also made this rule, which is mainly intended to keep you fron running outside the cones and normal boundary area. When we had the qualifier here, we checked the SFL speed of every submission. Outliers were disqualified.

And yes, exit of pit lane tarmac can be used to set up for turn 1.

Been .1 faster at each split but yet to get them in my best save and lots more left.. probably 16.6 and 36.8 are right on it for the top runners 👍

btw set my clock for 19:00hrs and it's much better than the blinding 13:00hrs I originally put it on :D using Kevs brake suggestion also :cheers:

I got used to using 7:30 am when we ran the qualifier here.

Agree that the height of day time is quite blinding.
 
Figured I'd give this some attempts. I have a ton of free time now that school is over. Also I just bought a Ferrari 599XX Evo Alcantara rim for my T300 today. Loving it so far! :D

Got these splits in 10 minutes of testing out the rim. Plenty of time left to find I think.
