Steward's Comments:

As @EDK knows very well, this car doesn't drive well at too many tracks, but Monza is a track that makes it quite fun. Plus we haven't been to this version of the track since week 2.

Viewing your Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual split times, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules.

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on Whatsapp or via other private conversation methods):
  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime
The following information can be discussed in this thread :
  • The first 2 splits: T1 & T2 times
  • Any settings discussion

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 131 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • See this screenshot as an example on how to submit:

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Good luck, :gtplanet:

Looks like room for maybe 3 tenths in the whole lap, but that's very ambitious... 29's are easily possible at T1 and I should be in the 1'05's at T2 if I can get that chicane right!

Too scared to reduce any aero yet, changed BB to 6/5 instead

Some long straights separating Ascari and Parabolic a though, so I think you are still in the prime seats @Dragonwhisky at the moment.
I'm away to grow some cajones . . .

Roger that.

I had better splits in other laps so I may go hunting a half second later this week.

Dropping the aero is worth 5mph on the shorter straights and 10 or so on the front straight. The extra speed does change the braking points a bit. The second chicane is the bane of my laps however. Can't seem to get a good turn in point there.

I've only been able to do it a few times but I love it when I get Ascari right and can give it a full dose of beans exiting the right hander and hold it through the left heading into the straight leading up to parabolica.

Found that half second and then some at the line. Also, discovered there's another 3/10s out there. May go hunt that up too.

Just for giggles, dipped in the 29s, 1st sector, once in 41 laps so far. Apparently, I got so excited about how far ahead of my ghost I was, I completely bolloxed the second chicane and lost all of it plus, right there.

66.455

edit: oh yeah, BB4/6 in this session, aero still at 50/50

Loves me some torques and sticky tires.

Losing a lot of time between T1 and T2.... don't even want to think about hoe much time is being lost afterwards.

Running 2/2 BB and 50/50 areo currently. I don't see any need for rear areo here, just constant throttle manipulation during corners to make up for the lack of rear end downforce. Seems to be the better choice of compromise with high end speed versus cornering speed.

I know I can shave off more from T1, but really need to figure out the second chicane to reduce my T2 time along with the ensuing 2 more turns before the long straight. Any pointers would be appreciatied. Also those not running ABS, and help would be awesome. :-)

Had another session earlier today, but was driving in frustration... nailed a great lap which ended up being dirty  gave it another hour in full on tilt-mode and managed about one decent lap!

30.053
1'06.012

First half of the lap wasn't great, although since I'm running more downforce it's hard to know how much time is left... At least 2 tenths if I can find them! But this combo needs more love, guys! :dopey:

Some downforce helps. Still far from happy with my best lap. Either great up to t2 (best 1'05.82) and overshoot the final part or my best lap comes from 1'06.200 :ouch: Hope I catch the lap I want tomorrow.:gtpflag:
Edit: I'll open a room around 18-19:00GMT

I can join you at 20GMT Stefan 👍

Hi,

I'll try to join, if I can find the room (GTP_WRS -> Club-Lobby?).

But be warned, I never raced online and I never drove the SRT nor Monza

D.

But be warned, I never raced online

Don't worry about that, we all had a first time racing online, just take it easy at first and be aware of where other drivers are, it'll become natural soon enough.

But this combo needs more love, guys! :dopey:

It does, it's very fun. I wasn't happy with my first session, but I'll try to get another one in soon. 👍
