Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Hi
What's the method to work out my handicap? Take the last three, add them together, and divide by three?

Or something like that....

Your handicap will drop by around one fifth of your individual week improvement.

So it looks like you will drop by about 0.089 when this week goes final.

Two replays were corrupted - sorry, can't tell you which two at the moment - and I'll check some more this evening.

Also saw mistersafeway's... Holy #%@&!
That could have to do with which folders they zipped and where you are extracting the replays. Make sure you don't open the folder that contains the replay itself, and make sure you don't try getting cute and renaming that folder.

If the submitting user has done that, then someone will have to figure out what the replay number was and rename the folder accordingly.

If you are a submitting user and in the habit of renaming the replay containing folder - don't do that!

I suspect one was a renamed containing folder; GTP_Diamond.

I also see that THORIN-RAYVEN has an extra zip file (Madrid 200GT final.zip) in his replay containing folder. Perhaps that is causing it to parse as corrupt?

Yeah, I just checked and one was mine.

Well that shouldn't have happened  :embarrassed: :guilty:. I'll need to figure out what I did wrong later :dopey:, on way to work now :(. Sorry.

On another note, well done to all podium finishers especially @mistersafeway for the win . Also @danbojte for his first podium finish 👍.

I was not very thorough with my post this morning, was a bit rushed, but you seem to have a pretty good idea of how to deal with this, must be that Max Drive experience.

Main thing is that as the reviewer, when you place a replay on your flash drive, it needs to be in main folder PS3, Secondary folder SAVEDATA.

And then it needs to be the folder (not zip file) as named on the PS3 console, not a friendly or fancy name.

The thing that we've done which makes things relatively easy on submitters but difficult on replay checkers is that Fetchy is not as picky as the PS3. He just wants your replay file, and when he finds it, he checks it for compliance and the lap time.

So sometimes people are zipping up their entire PS3 root folder, with the full game save and a replay in there, sometimes with some pics for good measure. And other times they are being silly and renaming the replay folder before they zip it. Neither one of those is really a great scenario.

What I do is just Zip the Replay containing folder for submission, and I don't even rename it. I figure once it's been submitted and accepted, it's here in the leaderboard for anyone to grab, and that's the official record of the lap anyhow. And if I really need a backup, it's on the PS3, I don't need another backup on a Zip drive or PC that's named something friendly. And naming it something friendly does nothing to help anyone, since they are grabbing the file from your name on the leaderboard, and that friendly name means absolutely NOTHING on the PS3. :)

Thanks. A learning lesson.....mad at myself to lose a pretty good handicap run. :embarrassed::banghead:

You have not lost anything. You have just made it a pain for us.

It would help if you could go back to your console and tell us your replay number, so we can use that to rename the folder. Otherwise we'll have to get Lucas / @Gravitron in here to look at it, as he is tricky enough to look at the files in the replay folder and figure out what the name should be.

 I think they were very similar devices, but on GT4 for the PS2, the Max Drive was what we were being asked to use to upload our replays.

Now I remember the Max Drive. In fact, I think I still have mine somewhere.

Thanks!

Sorry. You and the entire team have always been the greatest about our mistakes. Thanks.

It appears one can repair corrupt files including those corrupted by having extra data or requiring proper naming.

Nicely done, gentlemen.
