  • Set the game up according to the event, car and track details below.

  • Report your split times in here, so you can compare your pace to other racers, without revealing the full lap time. (Note: this is required if participating)
  • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline.
  • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline.
  • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section.

Steward's Comments:
Four of us did a whole bunch of testing yesterday and this is one of the first combos we established. We have started to get into the dregs of the game, so to speak, so we are revisiting some old favorite cars that we have used before, and we will also be using a bit tighter track rotation. Thanks to @roamer2629 @Stryker13 and @Philtaylor17 for all the testing help yesterday. We have some really fun combos planned in the near future, and even a special event multi-class enduro with road cars on the docket.

The Gr. 3 Corvette C7 is very similar to the C7R Corvette that raced in IMSA and at Le Mans. I had the pleasure of seeing those cars on track on a couple of occasions at Sebring, and the noise they made was indescribable. Loud and proud, there was nothing like an 8 am wake up call from that throaty V8. Rip and Snort is the best description I could give it, but hear for yourself by watching this video.

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
  • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below).
  • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
  • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
  • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
  • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
  • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If you’re still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if you’re still undecided, run the lap again.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 145 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Please submit your FULL LAP TIME in the following format on a single line:
    X:XX.XXX
    (Example-) 1:10.100

  • For those of you who were used to submitting replays on GT6, you no longer have the ability to export the files.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 145 Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 145 Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • The deadline is Monday, September 7th 2020 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site.
Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via the GT Sport Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Replay Verify Required).
  • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification.

BB-0 switching to BB+1 for the off camber uphill hairpin, short shifting at 50-60% still.

Man this track and car are fun, especially the last sector. Although most of the time is in the slow corners like turn 1 and the hairpin after the double apex left ( turn 4 i think? ) from what I've seen.

Watched the youtube video for the first time too, that noise is violent!

Gonna give this a go, IF, I have the car in my garage - or - IF, it's not expensive to buy.
Trying to build up my bank balance so I can get a car to win the vintage race series in the third level of career mode.

Though I already know I will like this combo, so, too expensive is a very subjective thing. lol

Its worth the credits ;)

Its a handy car to have for daily races, FIA, and plenty of GT Planet GT3 races/championships.

And then when you eventually win it as a daily prize just sell your original :)

Hey, if you're able to leave the PlayStation running overnight, I can show you how to make a few easy millions :D
I did it once a while ago to try it but, I'm not really interested in the expensive vintage cars so never tried it again. I imagine it'll still work the same.
It's basically an unattended endurance race at BMB Speedway on the N1000 Bugatti vs Gr.3 opponents.

Or if you want actually do the driving, there's a campaign race that gives you around 350K in 15mins for 1st place (including clean race bonus). Again, haven't done this one in a while either but, I don't think it would've changed with updates.

Yeah, there is a thread on GTP about earning credits(https://www.gtplanet.net/easiest-ways-make-money-xp-gt-sport/), and I can leave the ps4 on doing stuff like that if I want to. But somehow, it just feels like cheating. :indiff:
I, as luck would have it, had the car from a daily reward, so am having some fun with it.

Anyway,
has anyone else found themselves getting a case of the whirlies after 6 or 7 laps on this track?
Maybe it's the elevation changes nearly always at the corners, leading to almost all of them ending up as negative camber in some way or other. The obvious one is the hairpin, but nearly all of the corners are neg in, or neg out, or completely neg camber.
The car is great, and actually I am enjoying this (as I said I would), but the whirlies/dizzy spells are weird. Only other track that effects me this way is Maggiore I, but not as badly.

I don't get that sensation, but have raced in real life with guys who do. This is exactly the kind of track that causes it.

They wear motion sickness patches on race day to counter it.

Glad you like the combo. 👍

As usual it's a give and take with me :banghead:

There's clearly more in the car, just not in me :dopey::lol:
Turn 1, I think you will find if you stay straight while on the brakes and wait until the turn in cone that's around the end of the entry rumble to turn in, then you can turn in at a moderate speed and throttle down the hill on the apex rumble for momentum. I can get times in the 20.0s with fair consistency, this is the best combo we have ever had for turn 1 IMO.

If you try carrying momentum to the apex, you give some up on exit and then all down the straight after that, which is long.

The other sectors are really tough, but the first one is just one turn, and I think you could find some more tenths there.

Anytime I've tried to brake late at T1 it has backfired badly, pretty much gave up on that early on and just focused on corner exit, and stayed in third gear instead of dropping to second. Sounds like a similar approach to yours.

Got no splits I am proud of yet, though they will come.
Splitting my time between this and binge watching 'The walking dead' from the start again.

Don't know what is more addictive...................
