Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Great job on the handicap adjusted win dude.

The gears did slow you down a little on exit and probably increased understeer a little, but great lap

Posted mine. Apparently my gearing was way off after watching yours GTP_EDK. Well done all!
Thanks for the check. 👍

Have not watched yours, so not sure what you meant. From Phil's comments, sounds like you might have been trying 3rd for the slow corner exits. This one was really an exercise in balancing the ratio of throttle input to wheel input. You could pretty much pin the car as soon as the wheels were straight, and mentally that was my focus for the slow corner exits.

Well done to Phil on the win and Ron on the podium placement.

@Philtaylor17 I was not using 1st gear, you seem to make good use of it a lot of places. It's never been friendly to me, tends to over slow the car. While my optimum splits this week likely would have put me in range of your time, replicating those with any consistency was tough. Particularly fast final sectors, getting .8's like I had on my sub was very difficult to do with any great consistency. I saw final splits as good as in the low end of the 19.8's, but could never tie one of those to decent first and second sectors.

As it was, I never had a lap even in the 43.6 range until Sunday. Then I managed a couple more of them yesterday. Those last couple of tenths were quite elusive. :)

Congrats to @EDK and @Mr P , great laps, super close field all the way through - everyone was on it this week and in a tricky car at low speed as well. Congrats to @bigdawg_351 and @Trc76 on division wins too

Shared my lap in game and on YouTube.

Very impressed with your lap, so smooth and it never crossed my mind to use 1st gear for any of the corners.

I ended up using 3rd gear to poor effect based on my time.

I used 2nd, and was about 50% throttle to balance the car until I could get the wheels straight.

@roamer2629 mentioned using 1st, but he thought it was slowing him down. I think it takes a lot of skill to make that downshift late, still carry momentum into the turn in. Not sure it would work for everyone. But Phil sure makes it work.

You were rapid, but especially in that last sector, I don't think I saw one low 19.8 ever? And your submitted laps S3 is quicker than mine too I think, interested to see where I lost, if it was the hairpin or the last corner, or maybe both.

As for first gear it just feels more natural, I think it probably comes from learning with a wheel on GT5/GT6 where the fastest way was to pivot the cars at the apex, and the default setups where crazy understeer. I think it can go the other way though and slow you down if it isn't timed 100%

Thanks @shoenboggie  I'm sure yours was a good lap as always but yeah I think from watching BigDawgs replay 3rd in this car seemed to increase understeer a lot which would have made the hairpins tricky. But going all the other way to first definitely made the car snappy so 2nd was probably a really good middle ground.

- Your shared replay actually shows a faster lap than your submitted lap, it's clean anyways :)

Thanks for checking all of these. 👍

Nice side effect this week of the stiff car and the sticky tires. There was not much to be gained from painting outside the lines. Even in the final turn, the fast line was the tight line.

Glad to see everyone was tidy.
