:: Open to All GTPlanet Registry Members ::

:: Members are not obligated to take part ::

Overview (How Does This Work?):
  • You must be part of our registry to participate.
  • These are Time Trial Events, we have Online Races here.
  • Set the game up according to the event, car and track details below.
  • Save Your BEST LAP replay before exiting your session.
  • Be sure and run cleanly to the end of the first sector after setting your fast lap. If you exit right away, your time stamp may not show up in your replay.
  • Report your split times in here, so you can compare your pace to other racers, without revealing the full lap time. (Note: this is required if participating)
  • Our leaderboard shows how you stack up during the week, before the deadline.
  • Submit your lap via PM to our Fetchbot, before the event deadline.
  • On deadline day, we will publish the results in our leaderboard and in a thread in this section.
  • Identified replays will be checked by your fellow participants to be sure you meet the event regulations.

Steward's Comments:

I can't take any credit for coming up with this TOTALLY AWESOME combo! Thank you Tim, @WRP001
The car feels like it is on rails, and the course is an absolute pleasure to race on! I could go on and on and on.... but don't take my word for it, jump in your Honda and give it a go - and please share your liveries!

Saving Replays, Viewing sector times and Submissions:
  • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below).
  • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
  • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
  • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.
  • When saving your fastest lap replay please ensure that you watch the replay to the end and that it displays your full lap time. Any replays submitted that do not show the posted lap time will result in a DQ.
  • Remember - When you submit your time you're also declaring that your run is 100% clean. We request replays for the purpose of verifying to all those concerned that the drivers claim is correct, which in turn safeguards the integrity of the driver, and just as importantly, the WRS. The golden rule is to check your replay before submission. If youre still unsure, check it again, ask for a second opinion and if youre still undecided, run the lap again.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 15 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Please submit your FULL LAP TIME in the following format on a single line:
    X:XX.XXX

  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week 15 Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week just reply to the conversation with your new time. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • The deadline is Monday, July 25th 2022 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site.
Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Replay Checking:
  • Division winners and overperformers will be required to submit a replay via the GT7 Share function for verification AFTER Unofficial Results have been posted.
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Replay Verify Required).
  • Video/Youtube/Twitch replays are not accepted as a form of verification.

Would someone mind confirming that they also have PP 783.51?

Thanks

Good idea. I just checked in brand central and it is 793.72. Putting back racing medium tyres on mine takes it to that number, so I'm good.

Just a bit paranoid because last week I only checked HP on the BMW, which matched, and only on Monday realised the weight was below stock... So I bought a new one just to be sure it was stock and quickly did a few laps to set a legitimate time.

Is is definitely Racing Hards, as it comes out of Brand Central with Racing Mediums ?

Well that’s something I need to look at. I seem to remember RM tires. Thanks for the heads up!

Switching to the RM tires should let me improve my time.

Is there a way to reset all settings to default?

Can I assume if the settings are stock when displayed in a white font?

BTW great combo!

Plus, I couldn’t miss it since Sardegna is the Italian island where I live!
It's a beautiful place!

You can create a new settings page, the settings on this page should be stock. The white font only shows unchanged settings on that page but not stock settings unfortunately.

Hey everyone! Very sorry for the incorrect tires listed in the OP. Please note that Racing Mediums are the stock tires and the correct tires!

Please be sure you have RM installed!

NOW you tell me. I thought it was like last week, where we had to buy different tires. The NSX still ran on rails with RH tires.
Is this illegal ?
I don't want to disagree with @Allibubba99, but on my much-larger computer monitor, that looks like drainage-tile concrete, not tarmac (asphalt). I do note there is no "white line" definition in the OP, but I also note that there are expansion joints on the pavement on the left side of the white line that isn't present on the tarmac on the right side of the line (and also on, and very immediately to the left of, that line), and the texture is different.

I binned a couple of laps (before I found out that I was running the wrong tire) where I put a third/fourth wheel squarely on that surface.

Create a new setting sheet (not a copy)...after removing all the aero parts and roll cage, and returning the wheels to stock size/width/offset (more on that below). All of the non-aero/non-wheel/non-racing part bolt-on accessories will come off and all of the settings - tire selection and, if available, suspension, LSD, downforce (at least to the specs of any aero parts left on; to get to true stock, those parts need to be removed before creating the new sheet), ECU, brake balance, and transmission (if memory serves, only the transmission on the go-kart can be adjusted in stock form) - will go back to stock

This will not work for items that are permanent (the items listed under "Engine Tuning" and "Bodywork" in the last column of the settings sheet). You'll have to buy a new engine/body (respectively) to take those items off, and that only brings it back to true stock if you haven't swapped the engine (the swapped engine will go back to its stock condition, but you can't recover the original engine) or applied the widebody option (the weight reductions and rigidity improvements do come off, but the widebody remains).

A couple of housekeeping items. Wheel offset and, at least as of 1.18 on the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette (the only time I noticed a PP change), rim size do affect PP. I have noticed a subtle difference between standard width and wide width wheels, though PP is not affected, and my experience of switching between standard width and wide width is very limited. In very-limited testing, I haven't noticed a difference between stock wheels and aftermarket wheels of the same size/width/offset; this also does not affect PP. Also, installing a roll cage does affect PP.

Can we agree on this in order to avoid any misunderstandings ? What do you think @Allibubba99 ?

In all cases I made two laps just in case, which have a .1 difference between them. The 1st is the one I took a screenshot above of, and the 2nd basically treats that concrete as outside of the track limits.

I'll wait on the verdict before posting one of my splits.

I'm agree with Eggstor.
White line is track limit except if there are some rumble strips, we also had this discussion for Daytona.

I understand everyone’s take on the subject. For this week, seeing as how I didn’t address this track limit in the OP, we will call it legal.

I have found myself that there isn’t much benefit using that part of the track, it unsettles the car so I avoid it.

As for being sure the car is Stock. I alway buy a new one if I have adjusted or added anything to the car. It would be nice and maybe in a future update PD will add the “return to stock” feature again.

I appreciate your comments and no worries about disagreeing or sharing your opinion.

Al

Thanks @Eggstor & @tarnheld for the feedback on getting settings back to default. Even though my PP is an exact match I wanted to make for sure. For this specific case there are no aero parts to be installed on a race car, just need to verify suspension, LSD, aero, etc back to normal. I do notice if I change any of the values the font changes to blue.

Because of all the issues you listed I'm very careful about what livery's I install, especially on road cars.

Initial splits

32.995
1:05.003

I'm still undecided if its faster to use 1st or 2nd when exiting the 2 slowest corners. Curious what others have determined

Lovely combo, even though the track is unfamiliar to me. Regarding the hairpins: first one in 2nd, second one in 1st works for me. Accelerating out of the first hairpin in 1st gear results in spinning too often. Have not fiddled with the brake balance yet.

If not too much work for our WRS stewards why not include in the OP a picture of the required settings? This would avoid settings discussions and spending unnecessary credits 👍
