I don't understand that. The dev diary announced that bridges and piers is just around the corner, that bikes are coming soon and talked about some of the bugs that they are working to fix. They didn't specify any dates, but frankly I believe it's better that way because we've seen in the past that things don't go so well when they release content prematurely. Better to take their time and do proper quality assurance and release whenever it's finished, even if that means that they can't announce any dates.
I think the lack of a timeline was the main disappointment. I understand not being tied down dates you may not hit them, but you just use very conservative dates that you will definitely be able to hit, and if you can deliver early, do it.

And every time I open the game having large sections of the map waiting for hearses when I should have more than enough crematoriums. :banghead: It would be nice if that was fixed.

I'm very happy that there have been no negative effects of the new Netherlands Pack. :)

I Think I'll nickname this the "Van Der Valk" pack.
It's frustrating that this still hasn't got anywhere near consoles.
I can't see it ever working on consoles. Hope I am wrong, but I don't think the hardware will be up to it, and changing the interface for a controller seems a big job. I doubt they will able to get mods and assets to consoles. They are having enough of trouble getting assets to PCs. For me, CSII without mods is not that attractive.

Started on a new residential area, mixing low density and low rent buildings. Tons of parking but also quite a lot of green space. The terrain is a little challenging but with some trees and bushes I think I'll be able to cover up the worst bits.

Played with the cinematic camera and created a little showcase video. The framerate is bad (for a video, but pretty darn fast if you think of it as a slideshow).

Here is a new waterfront development. Planning to add some fishing industry next to it when the Bridges and Ports expansion is released.

Added a pedestrian underpass beneath the coastal avenue for easier access to the beach.

I also tried the OSM export mod. It creates nice maps, but too cluttered with all the text. It works better on a neighbourhood scale.

I made my first port with the new expansion. It's mainly an oil port but it has a couple of container stacks as well.
I built a new suspension bridge as well, mainly to have a nice backdrop behind the port. An increase in traffic prompted the construction of a new interchange.

“After more than a decade of successful collaboration across numerous titles that we’re both immensely proud of, Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have mutually decided to pursue independent paths. The decision was made thoughtfully and in the interest of both teams - ensuring the strongest possible future for the Cities: Skylines franchise.

Development of the Cities: Skylines franchise will move to a different studio under Paradox Interactive's leadership and Colossal Order looks forward to building on its experience across new projects and exploring new creative opportunities. Both companies are excited for what the future holds while remaining deeply appreciative of our shared history and grateful to the Cities’ community.”

Loved the original Cities Skylines and I had nearly lost all hope the sequel would ever make it to consoles, that hope is all gone now, shame.

On the plus side it doesnt look like anyone lost their jobs in this which is a nice change from all the job losses happening in the gaming industry lately.

It does say that the new team’s responsibilities include console releases, but it likely pushes the timeline way into the future, ie next game on next console.

The bikes patch arrives today, earlier than I expected. I have watched some videos and it seems like they have done a good job with this feature. I especially like that the bikes require parking. I saw someone complain about that, arguing that in the real world bikers sometimes just park against a wall and that "pocket bikes" could have been used instead to simulate that. While that might make sense outside a single family house or a small business where only a handful of bikes might be parked at any given time, it makes no sense outside a busy shopping centre or a train station or a school where hundreds of bikes could be parked. So I much prefer that they chose to require parking.

Bicycles have arrived to the city! I like the implementation, I only wish that there was a narrow option for a combined pedestrian-bike path. It's sometimes hard to squeeze in the wide combined path and it looks a bit weird to have such a wide path in an area where there's not a ton of traffic.

One of my favourite ways to use the bike lanes is to add a reverse bike lane on one-way streets, allowing for bike traffic in both directions while the cars are limited to one way only.

Another favourite of mine is to see the parked bicycles in front of the university, or the train station, or the shopping mall.
