Nice little documentary. I didn't know Lucas already worked his way into pro racing via karting and failed (nor that his older brother too and succeeded at it), that was relevant and interesting. The timing is a bit weird in the sense that it might look like "hey, it was me before Jan" (I don't get that vibe from it at all, but one might think so before watching), I guess is just more like they're trying to reach a wider audience now that the movie is out.
 
Why wasn’t the Gran Turismo movie about him instead?
IMO because Jann's character and story are more appealing for a number of reasons - native English speaker, multicultural family, his father being a pro soccer player, his accident at the Nurburgring, podium at Lemans, etc.
