A few weeks ago I traveled to Philadelphia, PA to visit an outstanding collection of race cars and sports cars. The collection owned by Dr. Fred Simeone is his personal collection he has put together and he displays it for the public to see. Once a month they have demonstration days and get 3 or 4 of the cars and run them around the parking lot, unfortunately we were there a week early. The collection ranges from the earliest car dating from 1909 up into the 1970's and contains a few cars that are extremely rare. I'll start off with the highlights and I will later add in some of the more of the collection. I will also list any major races the cars completed in, or anything unique about the cars.

Starting with the oldest car in the collection: The 1909 American Underslung

My thanks to Dr. Simeone for displaying his outstanding collection of priceless automobiles that exemplify his phrase for defining the collection, "The Spirit of Competition." All the information about the cars comes directly from the placards by the vehicles. For more information on the museum please follow the link below.

Wish you'd have got some more of the MKIV, this is one of the originals that was driven at Le Mans in 1967 by Ruby/Hulme. :)
Did you notice that the wheel caps are red on the left and blue on the right?

I did get another picture of the MKIV but it was just a head on picture, I can upload later when I put some more up. I also did not notice the difference in the color of the wheel caps, probably because I was just in awe of all of the amazing cars. If anyone is ever in Philly make sure to check it out, you won't be disappointed.:)

got DAMN, there are some VERY significant cars there, not only because of the racing pedigree of some, but because of the sheer rarity of the non-racing cars. Worthy museum indeed.

MOAR.
