Being able to play the event without owning the car would be too much of a concession towards `fun’ to Polyphony Digital.

  2. Adam

I bet the F1 races are fun, but I only have a measly 8,000,000 credits. Would have liked it if they let us do those events without requiring us to purchase them.

  3. xxANDYxx

Yea they should of never changed the seasonal.I thought it was a good way to try out all of the cars in the game plus you get the big reward.Plus y is there no dirt racing events.

  4. Cramerizking

I’ve come to a point where I hate complaining about this game but what I enjoyed about the previous seasonal races was that all of the payouts covered the required cars and put a little extra money in your pocket. From what I understand the ferraris are 10mil a piece? So much for trying to save towards the X1. I’m holding out for the next update playing the seasonals once a week but I probably won’t bother with these. Prob going to get flamed but I refuse to grind. It’s boring.

    1. Greyum

Don’t grind, don’t get the cash, don’t moan. Your choice. I fail to see why people didn’t just use the seasonals to get to 20,000,000 and then use the save exploit to get cars for free.

  5. EatonRifles

I’m just glad to have something different to go at. Was getting a bit stuck on A spec endurance…… Keep em coming (and maybe a bit more cash and XP next time)

  6. dranddad

Makes a nice change to see a lot of positive feedback after all, these updates are free same as the connection to online gaming.

Just enjoy the seasonal for what they are, I’m sure as time goes on PD/Sony/PSN will give us all we wish for.

    1. Ka-Mai

Well said Dranddad. I personally think its great to have these “extra freebies”; we’ve bought the game as it is and all this is a bonus :-). I think pple just get a bit caught up in the money side of things. Just grind in B spec in the (Like the wind is a good one for a very low maintenance 84k in 15mins).

Just enjoy the races for the fun of it :-)))

I don’t know why they don’t just do the obvious and allocate credits/experience according to how closely you follow the opponent HP.

If it’s a 300 HP series and you use a car with 350 HP for example, you should earn more credits/experience than someone using a 600 HP car. That way everyone could race according to their own skill level and earn rewards accordingly.

It would make things a helluva lot more interesting and give you a reason to actually challenge yourself.

    1. Ka-Mai

I’ve wondered this. More credits/XP depending on just how many seconds you beat the competition and in function of your power/weight also.

These variables can’t be too difficult to factor in. THAT would make it far more fun than always the same result – same XP and same Credits, whether you win in a Mini or a Murcielago, by 1 secs or 100 :-))). Should apply to all races.

    2. si_the_red

Was just thinking along the same lines myself….pretty obvious answer really that would go a long way to making the events better

  8. giygas

Oh crap, just finished all the drivetrain events and i have 8 million credits until i can afford a ferrari f1 car.

  9. Lszybee

The rewards make the season events pointless now….. Nice one!:/
Now if you want save up for £5m cars it will take weeks as I have a life other than playing this game.

Sort it out as this game has now really lost it’s appeal. 22k for a race is bullsh:t!!!

    1. Lszybee

And also to the people who were saying it was unbalanced before. You had to buy the cars to enter the races which for the bigger Cr’s were expensive. So it balanced out…. And the races were good, these are beginner level at best!

    2. Greyum

Most games lose their appeal after many tens of hours playing it…put it into some context eh? This isn’t a 5 hour FPS campaign.

  10. guidance is internal

These events are weak. I did the 4WD 400hp this morning with a 300hp car, & cleaned house.
C’mon PD, @ least make ’em challenging.

  11. Gotvtech

There is no need for balance. This is not an online game. Do you really care if I have 5 lambos, 10 ferraris and 15 zondas?

We just want to own all these cars and drive them in the game. If we’re only getting 300k it’s going to be impossible to do that.

Online racing is always limited by the room restrictions and skill. Doesn’t matter how many cr I have to buy cars.

    1. Shane

I completely agree! Most of the fun I get out of GT5 is finding, collecting and learning about cars I know and love, and cars I don’t and grow to love. I did seasonals to make the money to do so.. Now I fear a cool piece is gonna hit the Used lot and I won’t have the cash. /:
Still looking for my Superbird xD

  12. The_Seeker76

It has to be noted that these new SE’s add nothing new or worthwhile other than dedicated Ferrari F1 races. It’s a step backwards for PD in my opinion.

  13. bigburt82

Love the new format of SE races – drivertrain specials and an F1 series. The F10 race at Nurburgring is SOOOOOO much fun – what the FGT Championship should have been like. The disappointing thing is the $20,000 race prizes and 6000XP per race. Before it was too much – $1,000,000 and 300,000XP for a 5-lap race, but now its the other extreme – less payout than the first set of B-Licence events. Now I’ve gone from eagerly anticipating the Seasonals for the wad of cash and XP to not being that bothered because I can earn more by doing other events in A-Spec. We need a compromise of somewhere in between…

  14. B815

I just might have to tear myself away from Test Drive Unlimited 2 for a little bit to do these…
    One second thought…. nahh

  15. Nero_sol03

O this is interesting we got more seasonal events but now a less payout. The F10 cost about 10 million I think, so I would’ve thought the events you can enter with them would at least give you some of that money back..And the update hmmm what ever what happen to him? Starting to feel like I am waiting for the game to be released all over again.

  16. McClarenDesign

Soooooooo… no update then? At least now I’ve got something other than enduros to keep me entertained. BRING ON THE UPDATE!

  17. Dtn23

For all you guys complaining about the money it takes to get an f1 compared to the reward, try going to the trading forums. You can get either Ferrari for a crx if you’re lucky. If all you care about is money, grind dream car. I can’t wait to get home and play these and people are already complaining. Sad…

  18. TehHo

@COOLfiat well they told us that rewards n such would be higher than normally over chritmas season, which is over now… Saying that er were not told is not right :p

  19. COOLfiat

I don’t like the new Seasonals. They should have told us they would be removing the Big Momma Prize Reward System… it’s not fair to the people who rely on Seasonals to help them succeed in this game!

    1. geffity

Sorry man but they did tell us the “Big Momma Prize Reward” would end in January when they first bumped up the prizes in December.

    2. Greyum

Grind like rest of us did and stop whining. I did these events and lost all the money because I was already at 20,000,000, and had the F2007 and F10 cars at my disposal.

  20. Tvensky

I was worried that there will be no seasonal events ever.. now I got surprise, and events are even more then ever, even with ferrari F1, thanks PD for support! I knew you dont let us down!!! yay!

  21. Magic Ayrton

I’m still waiting for my T500 RS!

We need more high paying events.. how can we buy special cars otherwise??

I suppose they were rewarding early adopters of GT5.. wish they would get their supply and demand act together though.. I’m itching to race again!

  22. cbabb

So the rewards suck? I can’t get to my game atm…
From what I’m gathering, the seaonal races are repeatable?.. I’ve just been repeating the Dream Car Championship. I collect 5.5 mil in 5 hours. Lol. In 3 days I’m I’m near cr. cap. 15 hours worth time and lots of patience.

  23. Phixshun

You could always do the dreamcar event in b-spec to grind for money. In the FGT it takes roughly 1 1/2 hours with no effort and pays out about 1.1 mil. It also refreshes the used dealership seeing how there’s 5 races. I use the Red Bull X1 and it cuts the grind time down to about 1 hour, depending on weather. This is all just for money though, grinding XP in a-spec is without a doubt a job for endurance events.

  24. Leemstradamus

Well for me I don’t have much time as it is and I find the grinding horrible! I don’t have time as it is to get the money for the f1 cars so to grind to get them and get such crap payouts seems pretty lame to me!

  25. BuTTon

Rewards aint that much but u get the rewards everytime you do the race.
Nice to see they added a hp indication. Now all we need is that uber update with proish collision detection and stuff.

  26. CURTIS

please dont cry about the rewards previous seasonal rewards were rediculous now its kind of balanced just need hp and tire restriction

    1. dakoina

It’s like a-spec amateur all over again.. rewards are not balanced for me imho. Now you get 1/10th or 1/15th or so…

    1. Whitestar

Endurance Indy 500, but it’s utterly boring to drive. Better to do the one on Grand Valley with an FGT and learn how to drive that properly at the same time.

    1. WangansGodHand

yes. youll get 350k or so for completing all 3 races. you JUST get the cash reward for the place you finish. yes, these really blow.

    2. neem'

No, they’re 10 laps each (I think) and it’s 350k or thereabouts for all three races. In other words, the American Championship Indy race is still better…

    1. Azerach

The XP reward is pretty good. 28k for 13 min race… Which gives better XP per minute than the 9 hour Tsukuba race =)

    1. chump

if you’re connected to the internet then seasonal events become available to play. These extra challenges offer large cash rewards adding replay value to the game

    2. Ezekiel76

What’s the deal with the low credits and exp for the seasonal events? If I wanted to run the Sunday Cup all over again I wouldn’t go online to do it.
