It’s been a few weeks (actually, nearly two months), but we’re back on the front page for the weekly coverage of GTP’s Photomode competitions. Using GT5’s mode, and varying levels of post-game work (ranging from none in “PMC”, all the way to the Photoshop free-for-all of the aptly-named Photomode/Photoshop comp), many of our users post amazing shots on a weekly basis, and every registered forum member has the chance to cast their vote to determine each week’s winner, as well as enter if they so desire. Let’s see what’s going on this week:
Last Week’s Winner: dennisp83
This Week’s Theme: Considering the image Dennis won with, this theme shouldn’t be too surprising: Welcome to Germany! Pick any German car(s) and take a few laps around any of the Nurburgring circuits available in the game. Considering the length of the track combined with the time and weather possibilities, expect a lot of diversity considering the theme! Want to enter? Jump to the thread now!
This Week’s Poll: Week 17’s theme was Colour Blind, limiting everybody that week to GT5’s Cross Processing filter. To throw another curveball, user Ponga required all entries to have cars in motion. Other than that, it was up to the users – and now it’s up to you to vote. Jump to the thread now!
Last Week’s Winner: CCXRacer
This Week’s Theme: CCX has picked a timely theme: Everything Japanese. The recent string of disasters has had the whole world watching, and CCX wants us to focus on the nation’s contributions in the game this week. Find a Japanese track or location, and capture any number of cars from the Land of the Rising Sun. Jump to the thread now!
This Week’s Poll: Perennial winner Moglet gave us a theme to explore one of GT5’s new-to-the-series features: Damage. He was looking for realism and still wanted artistic qualities in the entries, definitely challenging those who took the time to enter. Jump to the thread now!
Last Week’s Winner: sixtoes
This Week’s Theme: Wondering what CCCL stands for? Certain Car, Certain Location. It’s an interesting formula that really forces users to find unique shots each week, as everybody is limited to a single car, on a single track (or Photo Travel location). The editing rules alternate between PMC’s (no editing allowed outside of GT5, resizing excepted) and 2.0’s (moderate levels of post-editing). This week, sixtoes provides us with Subies In The Snow: take your RM’d Impreza Spec C to Chamonix Main (with Weather Change), and have at it! Jump to the thread now!
This Week’s Poll: Last week’s theme had the combo down to an R8 V10 at the Nordschleife with Truth In Engineering. Unsurprisingly, this combo produced a bunch of gorgeous shots; thanks Ziggedzag for that theme! Now, who to vote for… Jump to the thread now!
Last Week’s Winner: Revolution.
This Week’s Theme: After utterly dominating last week’s poll, the host of the competition also becomes the judge as Revolution gives us one of the most-liked themes: Magazine Covers. Using Photoshop and some GT5 shots, provide an image that would look right at home on the newsstands. Jump to the thread now!
This Week’s Poll: The Gumball 3000 was last week’s theme, courtesy of Bonkmeister. As this week was a Graphics week, users were free to make posters, ads, roadplans, invites… anything so long as it followed the event’s spirit. Help decide who conveyed it best! Jump to the thread now!

All sound a bit complicated? Read this thread for an explanation on how to get your images off your PS3 and onto a computer, and read over the individual rules in each competition’s thread. If you’re further stuck, feel free to Private Message me (click here). Start snapping those digital shutters!
I hope PD will give us some kind of add-on for cars. Or at least make cars like the Aston Martin DB9 race modable.
My mistake… :(
I dont see the point of this competion being associated with GT5 when your using Photoshop and now with cars that dont even belong in the game?????
If you had bothered to take a look at the appropriate forum or even read the post fully you would know that there are 4/5 various contests running.
Some you can only use stock shots from the game, others you can edit a little, and one you can edit fully. The Aston is from the one that allows full editing.
A Car like that Aston Martin DBR9 should have been in GT5 but for being the best racing game on the market I guess they could not pull it off.
@zambuca There is an aston marton in the game, but only one.
theres also a DB7 and Vantage
and a Vanquish and a standard DB9…
Wow how epic! I am sure I will be in here, and I will provide a challenge to you experienced Picture Takers! :D
To enter an image, just click on any of the links to this week’s open threads above, and make sure to read all the rules in the first post of each. Then, just submit an image that complies to them, and hope the judge for the week chooses you for the poll!
I wonder when new cars will start showing up as downloadable content?
For your information the Aston does not exist in the game. It was entered in a Photoshop competition with the theme: Racing Livery. Revolution (the competition winner) added all the features. I do wish it was in the game though ;-)
That’s sad news! I wanted that so bad :'(
me too…
how do you submit photos? i have a few good photos including one of a 50 foot high x1
x2010 as its now called
Ditto @Adam, looking forward getting that Aston-Martin as well, and then throw it around the Ring! ;-)

i make a many beautiful photos in GT5, and wanna share it with you!
The Aston-Martin looks beautiful! Didn’t know about it being in our game. This will be my next! :D
Is it really in the game or is the livery done with photoshop?? Amazing picture. I should have more time to play GT5… :(
