Assetto Corsa Wins Red Bull’s Readers’ Racing Game of the Year 2016

The end of the year is fast approaching, and that means a whole lot of best-of lists are about to hit. The Game Awards already got their presentation out of the way (awarding Forza Horizon 3 the best sports/racing title), and now Red Bull has announced the winner of its Readers’ Racing Game of the Year poll: Assetto Corsa.

What a month it’s been for fans of the Porsche brand. Not only have we seen DLC packs released for Assetto Corsa, but the huge reveal that EA no longer hold the exclusivity rights for the motorsport icon has been met with joyous reception around the world — Santa couldn’t bring a better gift to sim racing fans.

Porsche Pulls Plug on EA Exclusivity Deal, Could Be Coming to More Racing Games in 2017

It’s the end of an era. For almost as long as we’ve been a website, it’s been understood that Porsche, that most desirable of German marques, was the (more-or-less) exclusive domain of Electronic Arts. Sure, earlier Forza titles had them — and later ones did too, if you paid the extra asking price for DLC — but outside of that, you pretty much had to play a Need For Speed title to drive a car from Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG (to give it its full name).

After three weeks of qualifying, the final set of races in Season 2 of the Forza Racing Championship is set to start in a few hours. This season brought a dozen names into today’s race, while the other four that are taking part were winners from last season, including Laige (who made off with a brand new Focus RS). Project CARS 2 Will Have Dedicated eSports Features “From Day One”

In a recent interview with Slightly Mad Studios’ Creative Director Andy Tudor during the Red Bull 5G tournament, eSPORTS+CARS’ Tom Brooks learned more about Project Cars 2 and how it will be involved in world-recognized eSports competitions. Andy stressed that a good relationship with major organizer ESL helps, and players won’t have to wait for in-game integration:
