Suddenly a rare Lamborghini Diablo appears and could be yours for under one million dollars. Costing more than a brand-new Aventador S, this particular Diablo is a collector’s item thanks to a starring film role.
Originally appearing in Jamiroquai’s music video for Cosmic Girl with Jay Kay at the wheel, the Lamborghini is one of 150 — 16 of which were right-hand drive like this one — to leave the factory. In the video, a Ferrari 355 and F40 joined the cosmic Diablo as the trio blitzed across mountain roads.
For the asking price you’re getting plenty of Italian muscle. You see, this isn’t just any Diablo: the model in question is the SE30, which marked the automaker’s 30th anniversary. Powered by a 5.7-liter V12 sending 490 horsepower to the rear wheels, there’s going to be plenty of kick.
That kick drives the Lamborghini to 60 mph in just over four seconds and won’t run out of steam until over 200 mph. There were two models used in the music video, and this is only one to have returned relatively unscathed. The first Diablo, written off in an accident, saw replacement in the form of what you see here. Meanwhile, this SE30 had its windscreen knocked out by a falling camera.
The Viola SE30 is up for sale on Auto Trader through Amari Supercars in Preston, England, with an asking price of £549,995. The dealer claims to be the sole owner of the vehicle, having sold it to Jay Kay in 1996. Swapping hands twice since then, the car’s most recent owner is a German collector.
