Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Alpine Fresh

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is becoming available on consoles around the world, as midnight passes in each time zone, bringing a set of races with a subtle nod towards this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Alpine gets to be the cover star of two of the events this week, beginning with a Special Event created just for this week. That’s a one-make race for the modern reinterpretation of the Alpine A110. Aside from requiring the car there’s no restrictions on this event, which is a four-lap race around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP course and offers an enticing 85,000cr for victory.

The same car features on the tile for the European Sunday Cup 500 cup race at Deep Forest, but you can use any Road Car from any European brand for the two-lapper. It’s worth a slightly smaller 10,000cr if you take first place.

A classic Ford Mustang appears on the thumbnail for the American FR Challenge 550 at Road Atlanta; that could be a reference to the Mustang’s return in the LMGT3 class this weekend. Again, it’s a Road Car challenge, this time for cars from the USA and — as the name suggests — front-engined, rear-wheel drive only. There’s 37,000cr for winning this three-lap race.

Strangely there’s a repeat race from only three weeks back, but it does feature a decent payout. The Ferrari Circuit Challenge — a nod to the defending LM24 champion team — is open to any car from the brand so long as it’s within a 700PP cap. It’s a five-lap race, offering 105,000cr for victory.

Finally there’s the most overt reference of all, in the form of the World Touring Car 800 race at the 24 Heures du Mans course. You just need Racing Tires on any car within an 800PP limit for this race, with a 161,000cr prize for winning the five-lap race.

There’s a mix of rewards this week. Completing one event earns you a 100,000cr ticket, and there’s a 200,000cr ticket for completing three; don’t forget that these are tickets that need redeeming from your garage and not straight credit rewards. Finish all five to score a Six-Star Roulette Ticket.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday June 21.
