If you’ve not had the opportunity to play Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC yet, now’s your chance. The racing sim, the official game of the Fanatec GT World Challenge, will be free to play starting today and running through to June 6.
This free-play half-week is part of a promotion across Assetto Corsa titles on Steam, including the original Assetto Corsa itself. That will involve sales on the titles, including 60% off ACC and 20%-50% off some of the game’s DLC packs.
It all comes in conjunction with the start of the second season of Lamborghini’s “The Real Race” series, which will again use Assetto Corsa Competizione.
This year’s version splits the action across three continents, with players driving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO in a series of ten races. Three winners, one from each continental competition, will head to Lamborghini headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese for a VIP experience — and fight it out between themselves to become Lamborghini’s official sim driver.
The Real Race will run from June through November this year, and it all starts with qualification for the first race at Monza. According to the original schedule, qualifiers start on Monday June 7, though today’s press release says you’ll be able to start qualifying from June 5. That means you could take advantage of the free four days to qualify!
Lamborghini’s event isn’t the only major esports series running on ACC this year, as the official GT World Challenge esports series will take place in the game throughout 2021. The next race also takes place this weekend, on June 5, but is only open to pre-registered esports teams. There’s still plenty of opportunity for players around the world to register and qualify for the Sprint series races.
