Another Update for GT Sport is on the Way This Weekend

It looks like the GT Sport patches are coming thick and fast, with an announcement of a second update this week.

Update version 1.07 arrived only on Wednesday this week. While fans were anticipating it being a major content update, instead it only brought some minor adjustments.

It’s come as a surprise then to see that another update is planned for Saturday, December 9, following a planned maintenance period. The maintenance is scheduled for 0400-0600 UTC, with the update available thereafter:

At the following time, we will perform maintenance on the ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ servers.
A new game update will also be available after the maintenance.

Please note that during this time the online services, including [Sport Mode], will not be available.

So what of the update?

There’s a chance it could be the content update players are waiting for. If so, it will bring 12 additional cars and the long-awaited GT League offline mode. However, a further announcement suggests that the update may just fix an issue that arose in v1.06 and v1.07, regarding campaign leaderboard times:

In the correctional update performed on December 6, we have found an issue where old records before the update are still listed in the Friend Rankings of the Campaign Mode.

This issue has been found in the following game modes:

Campaign Mode
・Driving School
・Mission Challenge
・Circuit Experience

This issue is planned to be fixed within a few days with another update.

Please note it is possible to continue to play the Campaign Mode in the meanwhile, but the records will be deleted at the time of the correctional update. (This will not have any effect to the status of Gold/Silver/Bronze prizes already acquired)

We remind GT Sport players to save game progress before the maintenance period. While the servers are unavailable they will be unable to save game progress. If the patch goes live immediately after this maintenance, they will be unable to connect to the servers until they quit the game and apply the patch.
