We recently spotted another video game channel – 60fps Sim Racing – pitting the virtual world against the real, featuring none other than that most illustrious of German courses, the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Using real lap footage of the BMW M4 (narrated by BMW development driver Jörg Weidinger), the channel peruses the technical achievements of one of the newer players on the sim racing block: Assetto Corsa.
Although Kunos’ title recently participated in a Nordschleife course comparison challenge against three other virtual replicas, this time it goes into the confrontation all by itself! Multi-course comparisons, matching up video footage to a point of almost perfect synchronization, have always been a great benchmark tool for separating ‘good’ from ‘better’ in the genre. In recent times, developers have gained access to increasingly-accurate tech (such as laser-scanning), allowing video games to be on par with real life scenarios. Just notice how easily one could mistake the virtual handiwork of Kunos with the real life course!
Unfortunately, console players will now have to wait until the tail-end of summer to experience the game themselves, as word of the new release window (August 26th in Europe; August 30th for North America) broke late last week.

That is simply amazing.
I have it pre-ordered fro my XBox… One can only hope it works as well as above when it comes out in August
I’d like to see an iracing version of this because I’m pretty sure the iracing version is accurate even down the tree shapes and placement because they scanned way more of the environment than the scans AC used did
both versions nailed the trees, kunos took around 10k photos and then remastered it this year after they lost the crown to most accurate Nords to iRacing. Well they took it back
The reflections on the windshield had me thinking… is that the real one? Very impressive indeed
The sync on those two videos is fantastic. That’s how it should be done! Anyone who loves the ‘Ring should get this game just for this track, it’s an absolute thrill to drive in every car!
I think another great thing about it is that the FOV is pretty close too. I think that’s a hugely important aspect of these comparisons that most people overlook while making these videos.
When i look at the real one above – it kind of tricked me on thinking that it was Gran Turismo’s version of Nurburgring XD
They could do this video with GT6’s version and I’m sure it would really hold up well. I’ve compared GT6’s version to the laser scanned versions and it’s amazing how accurate GT6’s version is, right down to all the bumps too.
Even the writings on the ground were placed with care if i’m not mistaken X)

PS. Only PS2 :)
I really want to try Enthusia but I don’t have a PS2 or a copy of the game. You know of any emulators for PC that might work?
I can’t believe how well synced that was. It was spot on. Great lap. I really have to learn the ring properly…
