Playground Games has announced that Aston Martin’s new Valhalla supercar will be coming to Forza Horizon 5 at launch this coming November.
It comes as slightly unexpected news, as the official FH5 website had already posted what looked like a complete — though slightly trimmed — list of Aston Martin models set to land with the game. However a new update to the list today, and subsequent social media post, have confirmed the new-to-series Valhalla as a launch day vehicle.
The Valhalla is set to sit just below the F1-inspired Valkyrie when it hits the real roads in 2023, although “below” is a comparative term here. It’ll employ a hybrid powertrain, pairing a 4-liter Mercedes V8 with a brace of electric motors to produce some 937hp.
However, this wasn’t always the case, and it does lead to a little question about the underpinnings of the car that’ll appear in the game.
The Valhalla was supposed to use an in-house developed 3-liter V6 along with the Valkyrie’s KERS system for a slightly higher 986hp system output. However Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers confirmed the switch to AMG power back in May 2021
While it’s listed as a 2019 concept model — the original Geneva Motor Show car — PG’s social media post does make reference to the Mercedes V8, so we’re going to have to wait and see exactly what’s underneath the Valhalla when it arrives in Mexico on November 5.
Alongside the Valhalla’s reveal, Playground Games has also added a suite of five Bugatti models including the Divo, Chiron, and EB110, all of which continue from their appearances in Forza Horizon 4.
We have, of course, updated our Forza Horizon 5 Guide to include all the new additions to the car list, including those from earlier in the month, and the new details from the Let’s Go Episode 9 stream. Be sure to check it out.
