GTP is host to the GT6 Nurburgring 24 Hours online endurance racing event organized by CORE. Running on its 3rd year for 2014 and on Gran Turismo 6 for the first time. Nine multi-driver teams from all over the world will challenge themselves with the grueling task of completing a 24 hour race in real time. As with real life endurance racing, this race will be all about strategy; it’s not all about speed, the teams that play their driver swaps, pitting, set up and adaptability to changing conditions the best will come out on top.

Jann Mardenborough is closing in on the ultimate target for most any aspiring racing driver, he now has a clear path under his feet that leads straight to an F1 racing seat for the first time.

Nissan is set to take on “the Mountain” for the first time in 22 years. Nissan is running the GT-R Nismo GT3 at the 2014 Bathurst 12 Hour, which is held at the world famous semi-permanent road course featured in GT6: Mount Panorama.

2011 US GT Academy winner Heitkotter is making his Daytona Speedway racing debut in support of the 2014 United SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona competing in the Continental Sports Car Challenge “Daytona Rising 200.” He will be piloting the Skullcandy Nissan Altima Coupe along with Vesko Kozarov in the Street Tuner (ST) category. Bryan’s last professional race was back in September when he ran a Nissan GT-R in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Class. He has achieved much success running in CTSCC previously with the Doran Racing 370Z, this will be the first race for him in the front-wheel drive Altima racecar.

Gran Turismo 6 receives its first update outside the initial day one release patch. Weighing in at 1.2 GBs, this patch adds the Red Bull X Challenge allowing players to try out the newest Red Bull X concepts created in collaboration with F1 designer Adrian Newey. As opposed to the single concept presented in yearly updates through out GT5’s lifespan, we now get the Red Bull ‘X’ cars in three distinct flavors: X2014 Junior, X2014 Standard and X2014 Fancar. Gran Turismo Drive is the newest street in Bathurst City, home of the famous Mount Panorama roadcourse featured in GT6. Named in honor of Polyphony Digital’s work in recreating and promoting the proud landmark of the city for GT6. Officials from the city, including its mayor Gary Rush and racing driver Shane Jacobson were on hand to open the road to the public in ceremony.

Fulfilling their promise of consistently expanding the roster of cars featured in Gran Turismo 6, Polyphony Digital has updated the game’s official car list to include a few important new models.

Gran Turismo 6 players will be the first to sample the new series BMW M4 before it releases to car buyers in the Summer of 2014. In an exclusive deal with the famous German marque, GT6 will deliver this car into players’ garages as free DLC coming soon after GT6’s launch. The car was spotted around Ronda, Spain, during the Gran Turismo 6 Launch party on day one and then saw track time at Ascari Race Resort circuit in the following day of events.

When the Lunar Roving Vehicle was first revealed in Gran Turismo 6, it caused quite a stir and immediately became one of the most unique and noteworthy cars in the history of the franchise.
