The Second Chapter of GT6’s First Love Campaign featuring a rebuild of Mario Andretti’s first race car, a 1948 Hudson, is now live! Jump into the stream to watch the rebuild happen every step of the way with hosts periodically presenting information on the build as well as GT6.
New information leading from the GT6 launch party has surfaced on the Gran Turismo website. In the release, 11 new Vision Gran Turismo collaborating designers and manufacturers have been added to the already impressive roster of car makers and dreamers:
Kazunori Yamauchi took the stage for a presentation on Gran Turismo 6 during the first day of events for GT6’s two-day launch party in Ronda, Spain. The presentation began predictably, reviewing lots of content we have previously known, but as time went on, more and more new information began to break, as covered live on our Twitter feed.
A new contest, the biggest promotional give-away we’ve seen yet, has opened up for hopeful players to win a full GT6 and PlayStation setup. Five winners will be chosen and all you have to do is be the fastest when it comes to recalling your Gran Turismo trivia.
There’s yet another way to get yourself a 15th Anniversary car for Gran Turismo 6, this time it’s in the form of a social media promotion from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published a short hands-on preview describing the first few steps in starting your virtual career in Gran Turismo 6’s single player campaign. The article begins with a description of the driver “tutorial” that begins immediately when the game first launches. This will be similar to the driving introduction players went through when first loading up the GT6 GT Academy Demo. It also mentions having to register a “name” before the tutorial gets started, again, in line with the process in the GT Academy Demo.
Legendary Italian American Indy 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, Daytona 500 winner and Formula 1 Champion Mario Andretti is at the center of a new GT6 First Love campaign in which GT fans get to take part in a historic rebuild project. The First Love Campaign is broken into three “Chapters:” Andretti, Live Build, and Reunion.
This is the result of putting together five Playstation 3s, five 80″ LED HDTVs, and five copies of GT5. The builders of this rig put it together as a “test” of a new line of screens for a University, combining students’ resources together for the temporary build. They noted playing GT5 with this rig was quite surreal, from the reddit post:
While Gran Turismo The Movie is still somewhat small on the horizon, Sony has brought it one step closer to realization. The Hollywood Reporter is naming Watchmen Co-Writer Alex Tse as the writer for the upcoming video game adaptation film. The first real sign of the GT movie being in development was confirmed to us back in July after rumors.
