Bell & Ross to Reveal Aero GT Concept at Baselworld (UPDATED)

If you thought the Vision Gran Turismo program had come to an end with what Bugatti conjured, think again. High-end French watch brand Bell & Ross have revealed their own stunning concept car that will fall into the VGT stable, and it goes by name of Aero GT.

Set to be revealed tomorrow at Baselworld in Basel, Switzerland, the trade show will showcase international watches and jewelry. Baselworld is the industry equivalent to E3 or the Geneva Motor Show, making tomorrow’s reveal a showpiece in and of itself, perhaps doubly so.

While it may seem out of place for a manufacturer not in the automotive industry to present a concept such as this one, it isn’t unheard of and has happened once before, with Nike designing the ONE 2022 that was featured in Gran Turismo 4.

B&R Aero GT-2

Furthermore, Bell & Ross aren’t exactly strangers to the automotive world as they’re currently co-sponsoring the 2016 Renault RS16 Formula One car that’s set to hit the tarmac this weekend. The news originally dropped at French website TF1 (AutoMoto.fr), which has proven to be a reliable source in the past by breaking the news on the Alpine VGT car last January.

The original article makes mention of the car being included in Gran Turismo 6, but the car is more likely to join the likes of the Hyundai, Bugatti, and the rest of the ensemble in the next GT title, presumably the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport.

Talk about unexpected. Head on over to our GT Sport section to discuss this latest news, and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

UPDATE: It looks like TF1 jumped the gun on the Gran Turismo connection, as the car has been officially unveiled without any mention of the Vision GT project. Sorry to all for the misunderstanding!

PS3 and GT6 are all done on my end. Just picked up PS4 and Project Cars couple weeks ago, having a blast. Hopefully GTSport and GT7 have as good physics. Don’t get me wrong still a fan but PC is on a another level. I guess it should be, being on a more powerful platform.

The video just came out in the GT Sport Discussion thread. You’ll be pleased to hear (as I was) that it now has side windows, and seemingly very little (if anything) to do with GT thus far.

I must say this looks pretty hot.

But as viscerally cool and sexy supercars are, and this is definitely a sweet looking commodity, what I really want to see in GT Sport are a wealth of sports cars, and moderately potent racing machines that are more like Touring Cars. A range of wheels 400hp and below.

I cannot agree more. Since GT4 there were big explosion in super/hypersport cars number. They really changed their way from normal every day saloons, hatchbacks, limousines and sporty (<400hp) cars. At least its my feeling.

This is unexpected. The car looks great but what I assume are 2 huge exhausts look a little OTT. I am interested to see what is powering the Aero GT.

Seeing as though GT6 is finished getting any VGTs I think it is time to put my PS3 into a well earned retirement.
