If you’re still reeling a little from the bad news that DIRT 5 will be delayed by around three weeks, here’s something to cheer you up. The newest clip from Codemasters shows off some frozen circuit shenanigans with some of the most iconic rally cars going.
Update: Following Microsoft’s announcement of the Xbox Series S and Series X launch date of November 10, Codemasters has confirmed that DIRT 5 will now be a day one launch title on these consoles. We await news on the PS5 version.
We’ve been promised a new-to-series feature will be coming to DIRT 5 when it arrives this October, and today we’ve finally got a glimpse at it. It’s a new mode called “Playgrounds”, and it’s essentially an arena-based course creator.
There’s another new DIRT 5 preview video out today, ahead of the game’s launch in October. This week, the clip shows off the Ice Breaker event type, marking the third week in succession that we’ve seen one of the game’s nine different types of event.
The next entry in the DIRT series, DIRT 5, won’t be with us until October, but Codemasters isn’t shy on releasing information and content. That’s the case again today, as a new clip of the off-road racing game brings yet more new stuff.

If you’re a fan of the DIRT franchise you’ll need to get your calendar out and fill in this date: October 9. That’s when DIRT 5 officially hits on current-gen PlayStation and Xbox One consoles, Google Stadia, and PC.
