There’s another massive weekend of motorsport coming up and once again Nissan and GT Academy are front and centre.

Silverstone watch out, the Australians are coming!

Six Gran Turismo 6 gamers are now one giant step closer to becoming Nissan’s next professional race car driver. Following two intense days of competition at the U.S. 2015 Nissan GT Academy Finals in Nashville, the following competitors have earned the right to represent the United States during the International Race Camp at the legendary Silverstone Circuit in England, where the next GT Academy Champion will be crowned:

The online time trials may have finished a month ago, but qualification for GT Academy is still very much available if you can get yourself to a Live Event in your region.

Everywhere you look at the moment there’s a GT Academy driver driving something somewhere. Whether it’s the Blancpain Endurance Series in France, the Nissan Micra Cup in Canada or GP3 in Austria, there’s a guy in a white and red suit who used to play racing games for fun sticking it up the sharp end in a Nissan of one kind or another.

It’s been one of the worst kept secrets in the game for the last 6 weeks, but today the final round of GT Academy’s online qualification section gets underway with players at the wheel of Nissan’s fearsome new hybrid LMP1 car around the Le Mans circuit it will shortly be calling its home.

Nissan’s radical Le Mans challenger, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, is coming to Gran Turismo 6 in just a few short weeks, when the final round of the GT Academy 2015 online qualifier kicks off on June 2, 2015, at 07:00 GMT/UTC.

GT Academy winds it up another notch today as the third round goes live and it’s a level playing field as there’s a new car in the mix.
